    Gates had been playing in the Euroleague out of Poland for the last couple of seasons. He just signed with Abejas De Leon in the Mexican League.

    He's played in Lithuania, several seasons in Israel, China, Germany, Poland and now Mexico over his careeer.

          I don't want to put words in his mouth but if I made all my money overseas I wouldn't want the US taxing it either. That's pretty ridiculous. That said, I would never want to do the taxes of an athlete, domestic or foreign , because they get taxed in every jurisdiction they play in according to state and local laws. It's got to be a nightmare to figure out.

              US citizens are taxed on their worldwide income, and Yancey and his agent or accountant should know that. Double taxation rarely occurs. If taxes are owed to a foreign country, they can usually be credited against any US taxes owed.
