This isn't Bearcat centric but it might employ some Bearcats eventually. A new professional football league has been formed and it's not the XFL. An 8 team league with a 12 game schedule starting on Feb 9 of 2019. It's headed up by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian. CBS has the rights.

They're also going to use the (very) old NBA territorial draft rule (that's how the Cincinnati Royals got Oscar). As much as America loves football, a Spring league always seemed to be the way to go for pro-football not named the NFL. I'm all for this.

Having an Ebersol, and Bill Polian, plus CBS, gives this a big chance.

McKay had the first reception of the AAF on Saturday. He looked pretty good and was a go to receiver for the downfield plays. Nick Temple started on Defense for San Antonio at LB.

Luc has 7 combines tackles for ATL.

ARob had 1 catch for 7 on 2 targets

There is an app out there for this league for those who want to check it out. I haven't played with it yet.

I took the app for a whirl. It's basically just a schedule, scoreboard and shopping links. No way to set alerts for players yet.

              Anddddd..... it's gone.

They suspended operations this morning. Looks like the cash infusion from Tom Dundon a few weeks ago wasn't enough to save the league. There's speculation that some of the tech property owned by the league was more valauble than the league itself so Dundon bought in to get the tech and then pulled the plug. Expect lawsuits. I'll be shocked if Dundon doesn't turn around and license the tech to the NFL.

This obviously directly affects Nick Temple, Jeff Luc, McKale McKay and Adrien Robinson. With the XFL not restarting until 2020, if they want to keep playing, it'll have to be Canada or make an NFL roster.

Adrien Robinson reported that he got stiffed with a $2500 charge on his card becuase the league folded and the team didn't pay for the player's room before they did so.

The league also left UCF holding the bag by not paying for any of it's 1M in rent for Spectrum Stadium while they played there.

Interesting thing there is the Team President of the Orlando Apollos is former B|N contributor and UC assistant AD , Mike Waddell.
