I do seriously wish him well. Yes he quit on the 2016 Bearcats. He took a stand and it backfired on him, then his stubborness set in. He was brought in to be a piece of the puzzle to get UC into the Big 12; however, when Santa Ono left so did our real chances of getting into the Big 12. I'm glad he is gone, but life is too short to bear grudges.
Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.
I jokingly tweeted at Dan Wolken at USAToday this imaginary campaign ad opposing him:
<Law and Order sound> Voiceover - Tommy Tuberville. Bad for football, Bad for your state.
In all seriousness, I think we consider this as what it is, a personal fundraiser. Now that he's filed the paperwork, he can basically fund raise for the race and enrich himself with the money. What Tuberville really has been about for years even before he came to UC is getting other people to part with their money for his own benefit.
In case anyone was wondering where I'm coming from on the above statement it's from one of the red flags that appeared right before Whit Babcock hired him. To be fair the settlement that was reached here is not public so we have no real idea whether any wrong doing was admitted by Tuberville himself but his name is on the business and his business partner went to jail for various charges. In short the hedge fund he and his partner created was a Ponzi scheme.
Tuberville does a lot of charity work to his credit but I personally choose not to donate to his foundation because of the links below.
Politics is a perfect landing spot for Tuberville. It's the perfect profession for people who like to delegate tasks to others, and for enriching yourself through shady dealings.
24/7sports is reporting, "AUBURN, Ala. â Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville will not run for governor in Alabama after two months of exploring the possibility in 2018, a person familiar with the situation tells
AuburnUndercover.".
