Witchita State still alive in softball.

Not sure if anyone follows women's softball but Wichita is still alive. They have been a good addition.

This is bad on me, but until your post I never even thought about the AAC having women's softball. I guess it's because UC doesn't field a team. But good for Wichita State. Houston, USF and Tulsa also made the field (I looked it up).

But to your point, I think they've been a good addition, too. Unfortunately in this case, they lost last night to Arkansas and are out of the NCAA tournament.

And I do enjoy women's softball; it's a quick game and there's lots of spirit during the games. But a crazy part to me is the astronomic pitch count these women can build up, and they can (and do) pitch frequently.

I've never understand outside of costs of scholarships and equipment why we don't have women's fast pitch at UC. If we ever run into complaince issue on Title IX where we need to add a sport I'd pick this. There are some pretty good HS softball programs in our area.
