  • Judge rules against NCAA in Ed O'Bannon case

    Basically, the judge ruled that the NCAA violated antitrust laws when it constrained player income. Details are at the link below. I fully expect the NCAA to appeal and it would not surprise me if this case eventually ends up with the Supreme Court.

    NCAA loses O'Bannon case

    A federal judge ruled against the NCAA ruling that it acted as a monopoly. Players are now entitled to be paid for their likeness or name with potential earning caps on any licensed product.

    This is what the NCAA has released for press initially.
