  • Miami U 9/4 3:30 ESPN+

We're in inside 30 days. Time to get hyped. If you didn't get your ESPN+ subscription last year , you're going to need it tthis year. The first two games are on that network plus whatever ESPN decides to do. I'll try and analyze the Redhawks in the coming days.

I watched the Marshall game few years ago on a streaming service. It was a good way to watch, better than I expected.

ESPN+ is great for streaming . I think the game you were referring was streamed on Facebook by CUSA. The announcing team was much better than expected if I recall.

The only reason not to stream games is this point cost (nominal) and adequate technology with know how. I ditched cable years ago so if you need help, reach out.

I still have directtv (sunday ticket cause I live in NJ and have to see the Bengals). I also started streaming last year. I have subscribed to many different services including espn+. My question is, after reading this thread, I looked into a streaming DVR, but found out Espn+ can't do that. I did learn they have on demand. I was wondering if the UC games will be on-demand. I can always wait and see if they are, but some foreknowledge would be great as I have grandkids saturday activities. I also like to record and watch without commercials so the flow of the game is good. Thanks if any body knows. Lobot I am reaching out.

Yes, the e$pn+ games are available on-demand for 30 days. I’ve watched multiple games after I get home from watching them in person.

That's a really good question Leo. At first glance the games are available to watch after completion on demand but I don't think there's a way to DVR them on your end and cut the commercials out. I think it's the nature of this service in that it's not really a TV channel available to TV/Cable carriers that keeps you from doing that.

This game is in 15 days and I've seen absolutely nothing on Miami out there so I bit the bullet and got Phil Stelle's preview book this year. I'll try and wander through it here this weekend and give everyone a synopsis. Stay tuned as they say.

Here's a large article that I posted under another thread that discusses all 130 teams, the Redhawks included. You just have to go to the correct link.

So here we go on Miami.

QB : Returns top 3 at the position. Brett Gabbert is good but they stumbled without him when he was out for injuries last year.

RB: Unit was terrible last year but it was due to injuries at every level of the depth chart .Top 3 guys return. Very good unit and probably the bright spot on the team.

WR: Experienced and very good. Top receiver, Sorenson returns and is tough to defend. He had 742 yards in what was a very short season for the MAC.

OL: Sad Trombone . Lost two best starters to NFL and the portal. Biggest question mark on the team. Sanders, Vann and Co. should eat them alive.

DL: Solid Unit. Playing with a former WR at DE and most of the unit returned this year. We get to see Zach Hummel again. He transferred after he couldn't get on the field at UC.

LB: Ivan Pace is a problem and had 7 sacks as a true freshman. (we offered him)

DB: Lost 2 of their 3 top guys at the position from last year. Ranked #116 in pass defense last season.

ST: New PR specialist but otherwise the best ST unit in the MAC.

Coach: Chuck Martin is back and will probably go 6-6 again. OC from last year left and Co-OC has taken over. New RB Coach and ST Coach. DB coach has not coached at FBS level before (I think)

Offense: Last years unit put up good numbers despite the short season and massive amount of skill position injuries.

Defense: Best Defense of the Martin era. They have 10 starters back. Unfortunately for the Redhawks they were truly awful last season and gave up close to or over 500 yards a couple of times.

Overall: Favorite to Win the MAC East but expected to lose all of their Non-Conference games

If you have questions let me know and I'll try and dig it out of Phil's eye straining writing style.

                      Good summary Lobot!

Pace, a Colerain guy, is very good, but all 7 of his sacks game were in one game against an absolutely horrible Akron team. Those 7 sacks tied an NCAA record for the most in one game by any player.

We can't overlook Miami, as they will be psyched to beat a Top 10 team that is a huge rival to them. Despite that, I see UC winning by 18 or so.

                          Welcome to game week.

I normally throw up stats for games but seems from my perspective there's a lack of hype for this game and since it's first on the schedule we don't have a great idea of what Miami is this season. I hope we don't get caught sleepwalking through this one.

I have two tickets available for this game. Sec 125 Row 33 on the aisle. It's right near a bathroom and the Rhinegeist booth. (or at least it was in 2019).

The tickets are digital this year so get at me early and I'll have to figure how to transfer them.

Brent - You c(sh)ould have asked for paper tix like I did. Mine arrived Saturday. And by the way, if you're going to make any of the games this year PM me and maybe we can get together for a bit - are your seats still the same ones you've always had?
