I believe I read in Athlon that Desmond Ridder is a "dark horse" candidate for the Hiesman!

I could see him in the conversation with some big wins vs Indiana & ND

For Des to win it, he will need to be head and shoulders above the competition and get the ESPN PR train behind him. He will also need to become a true dual threat QB by becoming a better passer. Des can run. Des can juke, Teams put 7-8 in the box and he still gets his yardage. Let's see if he can make the passes on long downs with only 3 DL rushing. I love Des and he is a great leader, with an even greater contagious winning attitude; however, he is a below average passer. Perhaps Des gets into the conversation and that paves the way for Prater who could be a three year starter.
Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.
