Houston is hard to figure out this year. This is partially because of a lack of sample size. They had their first 4 games canceled or postponed and are only 2-2. When they've been on the field they've run a good offense but the defense is lacking and they've been outscored by higher profile offenses in UCF and BYU. Dana Holgorsen is an air raid guy so chuck it deep and hope for a penalty is a strategy here against our defense.
Like the offense for the last two teams we've played, Houston has playmakers on the outside. They don't run the ball particularly well and don't have a rushing play over 18 yards on the year. QB Clayton Tune is not afraid to take off with the ball and is the 2nd leading rusher on the team. In the passing game, I'll just assume Ahmad Gardner will be on Marquez Stevenson all game.
I think the key for UC will be avoid a let down which probably won't happen on our home field. The offensive play calling needs to work around Houston's Grant Stuard at linebacker. He's the best player on the Houston defense and we need to keep the Houston DEs out of the backfield. They have a 7 sacksin 4 games between the two ends.
