As P5 conferences move to conference only schedules minimal OOC games, I think the AAC should do something similar with at least 1 OOC game. I really think the big boys are going to beat up on each other and it gives UC a good chance to still be the best G5 team. As for UC, I wouldn't mind an away game to fill in that 1 OOC game. Maybe Loserville or UK (both are respectablly good teams that we could beat).

I am sure Bowl eligibility will be modified to maximize number of P5 teams IF bowls even happen. There has been little speculation, nothing confirmed or believable yet, that the Playoff might look different this year too.

The AAC has announced it will play 8 league games and as many non conference games as possible per Pat Forde.

Louisville can’t come here. The ACC’s rule was that they can play a non conference game but they have to play in the state the team is from. So we’d have to go to Louisville.

For this season only, I'm okay if Cunningham accepts four road games with no return dates required. If he can get return trips, fine, but this year take as many games as possible with as much guaranteed money as possible.

If the MAC brass allow OOC games, the Cats already will have two games. Under those circumstances, if UC were to try to sub in other schools, whether P5 or otherwise, WMU & MU would insist on buyout cash. UC could not argue that Covid-19 restrictions allowed them that option, since the AAC heads said all member schools could play.

Here's hoping the MAC goes conference only, LOL. If not and we get unique opportunities to play a regional P5 road game, pay the buyout. This team will be very, very good. I'm not talking listen to any offer: Cunningham should make first call and offer us up as an option. Any SEC, Big 12, or ACC team is better than MAC.

                      Again, this season only.

The problem with that scenario is that UC, like most other schools, is not in a financial position to pay any buyouts.

Several PAC-12 players, working with a players' organization that acts as would a union, have threatened to boycott camps and games unless certain demands are met, not all Covid-19 related:

If we can get paid to play Loserville, Kentucky, WVU, or others from those conferences it would cover buyout, plus some. Buyout with surplus to being visiting team at P5 school versus paying those schools to come to Nippert is better financially for UC.

We will have AD budget shortfall without fans in the stands, but should be able to weather it for one year. Our AD budget is smaller than those big schools who rely on that tv revenue.

The only way that would work would be if OOC schools presently on ACC schedules are not permitted to play any OOC games. For instance, if the MAC let their schools play OOC, Miami would have the chance to play at Pitt. If Pitt chooses to play an AAC team instead, MU would demand their buyout compensation. Pitt is no more likely to do that than we are, despite a better TV deal.

The ACC, Big 12, and SEC had games lost against Pac12 and Big 10. You are correct, Pitt wouldn't work do to Miami (Oxford). For others, it might. I don't see all G5 schools playing in fall. I honestly don't think that there will be much college football much other than P5, AAC, and Mountain West if we get that lucky. Weird times
