I just saw something really interesting. Bob Bowman at ASU, Michael Phelps old swimming coach, Just redshirted his entire swimming team for the year.

Aside from players who just want to graduate and move on, what’s stopping every university and team from doing this?

This isn’t football, but 13 members of the Marlins (11 players) tested positive. Game postponed. Also, Phils game postponed, since the Marlins just left Philly. MLB in emergency meeting.

This is a really bad sign For sports that are happening outside of a bubble situation IMO.

As much as I want to believe all UC’s athletes are behaving themselves, it only takes one player to break a curfew and unintentionally get everyone else sick. Cross your fingers everyone.

If baseball today decides to cancel the rest of the season, and of course baseball being a noncontact sport, you can write off high school, college, and No Fun League football for this fall.

I agree Chris. If they can’t stop the spread of the virus in baseball, it will be next to impossible for football. I’m still hoping for the best but it doesn’t look good.

I just caught something posted by a sports lawyer saying that NFL players are opting out of playing this season prior to the actual window opening for players to opt out. This is so they don’t have to report to training camp at all and can avoid the reporting requirement and fines.

Which leads to the question, were college players given an option to opt out and if they were, did any of our guys choose not to play?

Fickell said this on the radio with Chad Brendel last week. You’d probably have to go back to get a direct answer but I’m pretty sure Fickell said he supports the players in whatever decision they feel is best which included opting out.

ACC schools also will be permitted to play one OOC game, provided it is played within the home state of the ACC school involved. So, Miami-OH might get to play their game at Pitt.
