Last go around for the seniors. We get a another shot at a 10 win season which no one expected.

ECU is pretty much all Holton Ahlers. He's a true freshman that we offered late in the recruiting process. He's the leading passer and the leading rusher for the team despite not starting the whole year. They also have a 1000 yard receiver in in Trevon Brown.

Wow, what a quick year. And a very happy one, too. I get sentimental at the senior days/nights, especially when the kids are as good-persons as they seem to be.

I like the start time, except rain could roll in shortly after kick-off according to current forecasts. I like the Noon kick-offs, too, in November, but the early start cuts into tailgating; we can't have that!

I wish senior night for UC was not over the holiday weekend. Not many students will be on campus. Seniors who fought through the Tubberville years deserve a sold out stadium. I did see that they are offering a discount for tickets. Use promo code THANKSGIVING for $15 Redzone tickets. Gobearcats.com/tickets

That was as thorough a beat-down as the Cats have administered in years to an FBS team. The Pirates appeared to be in shock at the ease that Ridder moved the team down the field through the air. Hats off to Khalil Lewis for his career performance. 9 catches; 203 yards; 3 TD's.

It didn't help the Pirates that their secondary was plain awful, compounded by the inability of their front 7 to lay a glove on either QB.

ECU HC Scotty Montgomery might want to brush up his resume. I'll be surprised if he survives.

Great all around game. I wish there were more people there for senior day. What a great season after going 4-8 the 2 previous years.
Let’s cap it off with a bowl win!

              .
Besides their secondary being bad it seemed they didn't like each other all that much either; #2 Witherspoon got into a shouting rant in the secondary huddle on the sidelines and eventually walked off and wouldn't talk to anybody. A teammate attempted to make peace but Spoon wouldn't have any of it; it was awhile before he got into the game again.

During the first half we noticed their FG/XP snapper standing all alone on the sideline as if no one knew who he was and didn't care to learn. Then after his lone (bad) snap it somehow got worse, and the only coach who talked to him was one who, much later than it should have taken, barked at him at which point he began to practice with another teammate. We felt so bad for him that we wanted to go stand by him.

Just a bad aura all around, and with HC SM's record to date it could be adios for him.

And furthermore, to those watching at home, was the Wiggins targeting penalty really targeting? It looked like shoulder all the way from our vantage point, but I don't understand football any longer so what do I know. It's going to be a shame not to have Mr. Wiggins for the first half of our bowl game.

I do know that was one of the worst positioning refereeing crews I've seen in a long time. Lost count of the number of plays they were involved in, including breaking up Jarell White's near interception. JW's interaction with the ref afterwards was hilarious; just glad the game wasn't close.

And for the second game in a row, I had ringing in my right ear later in the night; it is so (speaker) loud in the stadium that it's uncomfortable. And do we really need "3rd down" defensive music/noise with a 50 point lead? Just sayin'.

I thought they reversed that call, and ruled it non-targeting. He was not ejected from the game from what I could tell, so he should be good for the whole bowl game.

Wiggins left the bench with an escort. The targeting ruling was upheld, so he's out until the second half.

Also, in response to Jean above, targeting does not have to involve a blow by a helmet. If the official believes the offending player launched into a defenseless opponent and makes contact to the head or neck, it's targeting. A blow with a shoulder pad qualifies.

Wiggins was definitely ejected. He’s out for the first half of the bowl game.

As as far as accuracy goes, it wasn’t a head shot. He got him the the shoulder high in the chest. They called targeting because he launched himself at the guy.
