We are technically still eligible for a bowl game at 5-7 if we don't drop another one, although the odds are getting very slim.
Before this weekend's game they were 50 teams bowl eligible and another 10 or so that were one game away. They have to fill 80 spots this year including the first round of the CFP.
As of today there are 59 teams eligible and 18 teams with 5 wins for a total 77. Some of those 18 will probably make it to 6 wins and guarantee a spot, others won't. The tiebreaker for 5-7 teams is team APR score.
The AAC is tied into these bowl games. 6 of the top 7 are filled already with qualfying teams. There is one team in the AAC with 5 wins, Temple, that could fill the last slot. The last two are secondary agreements to fill if another conference can't fill their slots with eligible teams.
Bowl season starts 12/16.
