  • Texas cans AD

Texas' AD Steve Patterson is reportedly out at Texas. The President got a little tired of him screwing over donors I suspect. There was rumor circulating earlier this week that Joe Jamail cancelled his VIP box. The field's named after him. That was probably the last straw.

Thanks for sharing. This likely just a case of a man's inability to have good interpersonal skills in a role that requires excellent interpersonal skills.

It would be prudent to add an expansion conjecture at this point, until smoke starts leaking out that Patterson's stance either for or against expansion was part of the equation leading to his dismissal. It could be an interesting topic affecting Big 12 expansion, but it's too early to make that call.

His downfall was due to p.ssing off big donors and fans. He got rid of a well liked long time sports info.director right after he got there and never recovered. He wasn't there long enough to impact what they want to do with conference affiliation.

It would be interesting to hear Patterson's take on expansion after the dust settles if he's allowed to discuss it. We pretty much know that the Texas brass don't want it. Patterson was fired because he was running the place as a business and monetizing every last thing he could. Turned off some big major donors.

Not sure it matters who the AD is at Texas as it pertains to Big 12 expansion. All signs point to Texas going the Independemt route eventually......only question is when will they pull the trigger. Their administration and donors believe they have the same kind of national brand appeal that Notre Dame has.....which is comical.....but that's what they believe.

The must be confusing themselves with the Dallas Cowboys - America's Team. What a joke. Who decided that?
