The Cougars built a solid lead midway through the 1st half at Wichita, then collapsed surrounding halftime. The Shockers went on a 22-2 run to go up, 44-34, then weathered a furious late comeback attempt.
at 0:19, with WSU up, 64-60, Grimes banked in at trey. WSU missed the front-end of a 1-and-1, but a Cougar threw a cross-court pass right to Dexter Dennis, who drove hard for a potential layup. Gorham clobbered him, drawing a flagrant 2 and ejection. Final: WSU 68-63.
The Cougars will be an angry bunch when the Cats come calling on Sunday.

I'll be somewhat shocked if this game actually happens. The power grid is back up for the most part but there are so many places without water due to burst pipes it's incredible. I'm on a 5 day wait for a plumber after I blew one on Wednesday. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston which is probably what we would normally fly into, is partially closed for water issues and runway de-icing. We usually fly Allegiant charter and they don't have gates at Bush (IAH). I have no idea what the water situation is at the Fertitta Center and on campus at UH. Probably not great.Brent Wyrick
