  • UConn 2/9 12:00 CBSSN

Nothing like a Sunday away game at noon to mess up your flow. Have to fly halfway across the country from Wichita and play at 12:00. Hopefully we don't have any more charter issues. This will be the last time we will fly to UConn. The game is listed as being in Storrs which means it's in Gampel Pavilion. UConn is 12-10 over all and 3-6 in conference play.

Uconn is led by guards Christian Vital and James Bouknight. Bouknight had 22 last night as the Huskies suprisingly knocked Tulsa out of first place in Tulsa by a score of 71-56. They also gave up 29 pts to Martins Igbanu at the center position which would likely be a sign that Chris Vogt should have a good game if the refs don't call garbage fouls. Tyler Polley is out for the season. Sidney Wilson is game to game. Wilson was in street clothers last night. Alterique Gilbert has missed a game recently with personal things going on. He'll probably play. Vtial, Gilbert and Akok Akok average about 30 minutes a games. They are a good shot blocking team with Akok blocking almost 3 shots a game on the interior.

Two important things for UC. Don't come out flat and hope the refs call a decent game.

UConn is better than their record indicates
Team was travelling straight from KS to CT so presumably already there (unless leaving this morning)
    Go Cats!

            For us uninformed folks...

Are the quadrants static, or can they change based on future games? For example
...since UConn is Q1 at the time they play, is that set? Or might that become a Q2 game after the dust settles if UConn were to lose a bunch down the stretch?

The NET rankings are fluid, because all of the component factors, such as quadrants change with every game played. For instance, right now, Houston has a NET ranking of 32. That probably would improve if they continue to win. If they get to #30, UC's home win over the Cougars would move to Quad 1.

If UC beats the Huskies Sunday, but UConn stays in the Top 75 by season's end, the Cats would earn another Quad 1 win. If UConn collapses to #76 or lower, it would be a Quad 2 win.

Here's today's article from the Courant about the rebirth of Alterique Gilbert and the improvement of late. This isn't going to be a cakewalk. James Bouknight is playing like a stud.

Getting everyone else involved....Only issue, 6 Team Fouls... I don't wanna see Uconn at the line with 10mins left.
