UNLV is certainly better than Pine Bluff at 4-1. They haven't left the confines of the Thomas and Mack Center yet this season. They've run off 4 straight after a season opening loss to Loyola Marymount. They have beaten no one of note. Your guy to stop is Shakur Juiston who comes close to averaging a double double from the SF spot. They have height. The other two scoring threats are both 6'11.

Pretty sure the opposing fans are going to give MIck crap all night about his job leveraging tactics.

Sagarin Predictor has the Cats as 8.5-point road favorites, ranked #18, with UNLV @ #109.

    KenPom has UC @ #38, with UNLV @ #132.

Mick noted last night that he scheduled this game to have what he hopes is a more manageable first true road contest, before taking on tougher MS State in Starkville. We'll see how that works out.

Valpo went on a 21-2 run & took out the Rebs, 72-64, last night.

UNLV doesn't sound great, but good enough to take down UC at home. This game isn't going to be a season-defining win, but will continue the momentum into a challenging week with a sneaky tough game agaisnt NKU and the X men next Saturday. Hope to build off the recent success and carry the positive vibes. Not sure of Cumberland's status with his health, but lots of guys starting to come on (and maybe even get some contributions from Nsosome and Diarra with their minutes against UAPB.

Valpo turned the Rebels over 25 times. If the Cats come out ready to play, they should be able to force a boatload themselves.

Just looked at the UNLV roster on their website. They have a a guy from Mali and one from Congo. Wonder what the odds are that Diarra, Nsoseme and Toyambi know these guys both on and off the court?

Here's an article on Mick's flirtation with UNLV.

The crowd vs. Mick is going to be an interesting dynamic in this game.

The Rebels have not been drawing. A lot of their fans are disenchanted with Marvin Menzes' methodical play style (at least as they see it). They want the team to run, but they don't have the same horses that Tark had.

It hasn't helped attendance that UNLV have played no one of note. The 3:00 tip on a Saturday may not help today.

The court of UNLV is sooooo ugly. The skyline goes past the three point line.

It feels like a NCAA tourney game. UNLV, hence the nickname, likes to run, which puts our D in a predicament.

Scott, Cumberland, and Brooks all with four fouls and 4:30 left in the game.

Two of UC starters fouled out and UNLV shot a ton of free throws, but UC still pulled it out.

Cane had a good offensive game, but didn’t seem to play as much in the second half.

Keith Williams had a heck of a game with 15 points and seemed to always be there when UC needed a rebound or basket. Brooks put the nail in the coffin with the final free throw. Good road test towards the beginning of the season.

"Not improved" Keith Williams with 15 points, 8 boards, and one of the best UC dunks Ive seen in a while.
