Athletic kids who's also a lefty. Gets up and down the court. Nice compliment to Mikey. I believe he's the son of famous bballer Johnny Neumann? I believe his production slacked off after a minor knee injury. He was scoped after season. Not a major procedure.

All joking aside Newman looks to be a good get though. Good start to filling a roster.

                            Local article: https://greensboro.com/sports/colleg...7f785df66.html

Newman averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds in 87 games over three seasons at Clemson. After playing in 31 games and starting one as a freshman, Newman started all 31 games as a sophomore, averaging 9.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals as the Tigers went 16-15.

But the 6-foot-5, 205-pound wing only started eight of 22 games this season while recovering from a knee injury suffered during the 2020 ACC Tournament. He averaged 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds as his minutes went from an average of 31.6 per game to 15.6.

J New's dad was a very good NBA player. Played for the Hornets for a while and was a star.
J New III is very talented. Wish we would have landed him out of high school. We have a friend on the Clemson team who said he can be dominant and has just been held back by nagging injuries and Coaches rotation favoring some other players. That one sounds familiar. I honestly would project him as a starter for us and a replacement for Keith.
What we will see in the short term is Wes filling in with some upper class talent and balancing his classes, then recruit younger guys to fit his plan and develop. J New is immediate but short term help. Don't be fooled by his stats, this kid can play.
