04/19/04: "Guard De'Angelo Alexander says he will transfer from the Oklahoma basketball team and choose his new team within the next two weeks. Alexander, whose 9.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game each ranked third on the Sooners last season, said future playing time was partly responsible for his decision. He did not elaborate." - Assoc Press
10/26/01: "Midwest City High (Okla.) swingman DeAngelo Alexander, the No. 51 recruit in the Class of 2002, has de-committed from Oklahoma and is now considering, among others, Florida. - FANSonly.com and School Sports
Committed to Oklahoma.
8/24/01: "Alexander's final six are Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky and UConn." - RivalsHoops
7/16: "This graceful and smooth shooting wing guard gets better and better every time I see him. He’s got a sweet three-point bomb, a soft midrange shot, and courage and efficiency at the hoop. He bodies right up on defense and stays in front of all but the very quickest wings. Knowing where most folks rate Alexander, I really tried to find the weaknesses in DeAngelo’s game, but the task wasn’t easy. He's not super quick and he's not super explosive. He could use some strength to finish at the hoop against power forwards and centers, and he could use a little more quickness and/or a slicker handle make himself even more of a slashing threat. But that's the best I can do for weaknesses because this guy basically has it all." - Duke BBall Report
7/9: "DeAngelo was not a lock to wherever Terry Evans may wind up, although if he went to the right school that he would love to go to the same place. The school he mentioned most was Illinois, but said they have not ruled out Oklahoma yet...his older brother Steven, a 6'4 JUCO guard at Seward County (KS) CC, will play at (the Swaim Camp)" - Greg Swaim
7/6/01: "A few big-time reverses in traffic and he effectively caught our eye. Like I said yesterday, he could be in line for a big summer." - BlueChip Hoops (2 to 1)
4/19: "Alexander likes Connecticut, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Cincinnati." - Sporting News (1 to 2)
2/20: "says he doesn't feel any pressure to stay in the state of Oklahoma for college. His current list includes Kentucky, UConn, UNC, Maryland, Illinois and the Sooners. Alexander says that North Carolina watched Midwest City play twice last week and in addition to recruiting him, the Heels are no doubt interested in teammate Shelden Williams as well. Midwest City is 19-2 with one game remaining before the playoffs begin. Their lone loss came at the hands of St. Patrick at the Slam Dunk To The Beach. Midwest City had problems getting to Delaware because of a snowstorm, and as a result wasn't on top of its game for the event. "We were on a plane all night long," Alexander said. "We didn't get to bed until seven in the morning and had to play that day." Alexander first made waves on the last year's summer circuit as he helped Athletes First win the Super Showcase in Orlando and advance to the Final Four at the adidas Big Time. He also played at the 2000 Nike All-American Camp. He says Illinois and Oklahoma have already offered scholarships. "I want to sign in the fall. Coach Evans said that before he broke his hand he had a lot of people recruiting him and then they backed off. I want to do it early in case something happens I'll already be signed." Logical choice, DeAngelo. Evans is Alexander's high school coach who played for the Sooners. "He just says go wherever I feel like I fit in best." Alexander fits in pretty good at Midwest City. He's averaging 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists." - Rivals100 Hoops

MidWest City is currently ranked #1 in the state and is 15-2.
1/3: "this kid is really good, a player who can bang inside and run the floor, as well as shoot consistently within 15 feet. Some say he's a lot like (Marcus) Griffin, hardly a bad comparison! All of our reports indicate Illinois is recruiting Alexander, and that the interest is mutual. In-state schools Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and other schools like Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas will be tough competition, and the list seems to be growing." - Bullseye, AllStar Report
1/3/01: Listed as the 7th best SG in the USA, in the 2002 class. - Ohio Preps
12/31: made the all tournament team at the Delaware "Slam Dunk to the Beach".
12/18: "ACC Recruiting spoke to DeAngelo yesterday, and the Midwest City product willingly agreed to share information regarding the present state of his recruitment. DeAngelo's early list- Illinois, UCONN, Kentucky, CINCINNATI, Arkansas, Kansas-reflects his desire to join a high profile program. None of the programs mentioned above lead at this stage however. In terms of his commitment timetable, DeAngelo expects to render a final decision sometime during the Fall of his senior year. Coaching the varsity program at Midwest City High School affords Coach Evans the luxury of having DeAngelo's enviable talents at his disposal in the winter as well the summer. DeAngelo has helped engineer a 4-0 start for Coach Evans, and his school boy statistics thus far- 23ppg, 9.5rpg, 4apg, 12 total steals- are a ringing endorsement of his ability to impact the outcome of a contest in a variety of ways." Acc Recruiting
8/8/00: "Alexander is a strong, athletic wing who plays tough inside and hustles well. On the perimeter he is a steady ball handler (although his dribble is a bit high) and he moves the ball well. He has a nice spin move from the outside, and he can muscle weaker wings close to the hoop. While not the quickest player, Alexander has a strong first step, he slashes to the hole with proficiency, and he has legitimate three-point range. He will be heard from next year." - Duke BBall Report
