3/28: "Ray Felton, an explosive 6-2, 190-pound guard from Latta High School in Latta, South Carolina, announced he will play for North Carolina in two years. He announced that today for North Carolina at a Wednesday 1:30 PM ET press conference. Sources told the Insiders Report last week that Felton was all set to announce today for UNC but he did not officially tell either Georgia or North Carolina until last night, according to our sources."

12/4: "Stellar backcourt play is fundamental for any college basketball program with national championship aspirations. Raymond Felton, an explosive 6-2, 190lbs guard from Latta, South Carolina (Latta High School) will provide the program lucky enough to secure his services with exactly that. Felton, who bears a slight resemblance to deceased rap artist Tupac Shakur, is an athletically gifted back-court performer capable of operating effectively in either the lead or off guard role. Strong and exceptionally quick, Raymond is equally content to hunt his own shot or distribute the basketball to thankful teammates. Additionally, Raymond's willingness and ability to crash the glass helps distinguish him from many of his peers. Last night, ACC Recruiting interviewed the budding South Carolina star. According to Raymond, six programs are currently under consideration: North Carolina (Heels are in good shape), Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, and Cincinnati. Like many first rate prospects nowadays, Raymond expressed a desire to commit early. In fact, he is currently contemplating offering a commitment at any point after achieving a qualifying score on the SAT/ACT examination. Next month, Raymond is scheduled to take the exam." - ACC Recruiting Update

FROM HIGH MAJOR HOOPS AND UNCBASKETBALL.COM:
10/27: "Felton is a great all-around athlete that can put the points up in a hurry. His main talent is breaking defenders down off the dribble and getting to the rim. Great court awareness and intelligent with the ball. Has the passion on the defensive end to rival his offensive abilities. Good stroke out to the three point line, great handle and confident. Possesses an ability to completely take over the game and wants the ball when the game is on the line. Strong as an ox on the drive and finishes with contact. Can play both back court positions."

10/12: "I spoke with Raymond Felton last night, who told me that "things are still pretty much the same with North Carolina and my recruiting situation. They never actually came out an offered me a scholarship, but did make me aware that they wanted me." He went on to say that he was still open and doesn't plan to rush a decision, even though "North Carolina is my dream school." "Clemson and South Carolina have both offered me a scholarship, but I think I will take my time and discuss things over with my parents before any decision would be made." I got the feeling that Felton would definitely love to be a North Carolina Tar Heel, but he wants to weigh the situation, schools involved and the best situation for him, which any kid is entitled and smart to do. He is taking his SAT soon and grades will not be an issue, as Felton seems to have his academics in order." - High Major Hoops

10/4: "[UNC] is very, very high on his list," Lata HS coach Steve Smith said. "He hasn't committed, but I'd say they are definitely the leader." (UNC leads for junior guard after weekend visit)

10/2: Felton made an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill this weekend. He attended the UNC/Georgia Tech football game on Saturday afternoon.

9/13: "usually shoots a high percentage from long range. He is strong as an ox. He can take a hit in the paint and finish drives. And, his speed and elusiveness off the dribble are uncanny. He is just a tremendous all around athlete. Best of all, he seems to really like getting after it on the defensive end." - AE Hoops

9/11: According to HighMajorHoops.com, the UNC staff is heavily pursuing Felton. Coach Doherty was in the stands during Felton's games at the Southern Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. this weekend.
