11/00: Verbal to Purdue

10/27: Kilgore is visiting Purdue today.

10/16: "will return back home to the Hoosier State from Oct. 27-29 when he makes his official campus visit to Purdue University. This information courtesy of Tyler J.C. Asst. Coach Matt Javit, who added that the Boilermaker program is the clear frontrunner for Kilgore's services this fall. Right now, there do not appear to be any other serious suitors for Kilgore's services, Javit said. If Kilgore signs early, all indications are that he will do so with Purdue. If he should opt to sign late, Kilgore's recruitment could change dramatically this winter and spring. A 6-5, 205 pound swingman, Kilgore was one of the top freshman in the tough East Texas JC ranks last year, averaging 20 points and four rebounds per contest. Kilgore, a 6-5, 205 pound sophomore swingman, is originally from South Bend, Ind., where he attended Washington H.S." - Juco Junction

10/00: Named First Team, Pre-Season JUCO All American - Street & Smith Magazine

9/19: "Darmetreis Kilgore, an athletic 6-5, 205 pound small forward from Tyler J.C. in Tyler, Tex., is down to four schools this fall.
According to Tyler Asst. Coach Matt Javit, Purdue leads for Kilgore over UNLV, Cincinnati and Illinois." - Juco Junction

Kilgore is from South Bend IND.

Tyler TX JUCO is where Immanuel McElroy is from. Kilgore is one year behind McElroy.

8/18: "Cincinnati Bearcats Pro Style Offense remains in the hunt for South Bend's Darmetries Kilgore. Early indications with Kilgore have exclusively pointed toward UNLV or Purdue. We have learned though that Tyler Junior College athletes are encouraged to play their Sophomore season and then explore their options. Kilgore has visited UNLV and he will also officially visit Purdue in October. The Bearcats are in need of a wing in 2001 and Kilgore is at the top of their list. They primarily do not bother recruits with contacts. What they do is maintain contact with the athletes immediate coach- and go from that position in the recruiting process..Tyler Junior College assistant Matt Javit maintains that Kilgore has always been open to many schools. Time will tell if Darmetries is headed early to Purdue or UNLV. Both Purdue and UNLV have been "full court pressing Kilgore," but now that he will return to the school that he must perform for--who knows what direction his recruiting may take. Kilgore recruiting has apparently gone from a final two to now at least a consideration for Cincinnati. If he signs late like his coach desires, anything is a possiblity. The NBA is still closely monitoring his progress. - INBNews

As a senior in HS, Kilgore was listed by HoopScoop as the 7th best SG in the USA, behind Reece Gaines (#1) and Kevin Bell (Mich St, #4).

5/26: "The Boilermakers also are quit interested in Darmetreis Kilgore, a 6-6 shooting guard from Tyler (Texas) Junior College. The South Bend (Ind.) Washington High School graduate also is considering Cincinnati and UNLV. "I'm also thinking about the pros depending on how I do next year," he said. "But I'll probably wait until after the next season to decide." Kilgore said he might take an unofficial visit to Purdue soon. "I'm definitely interested, Purdue is a good program," he said. Kilgore averaged 19.3 points and 4.5 rebounds for Tyler this past season. Coming out of high school, Kilgore was considering Georgetown, Kentucky and Purdue. But he would not have been academically eligible to play as a freshman so he went to a junior college." - Indy Star News

5/11/00: "Kilgore finished as the sixth best scorer in NJCAA Region 14 in his first year of play for Tyler J.C., averaging 18.4 points on 47-percent shooting from the floor and 67-percent from the line." - Mr Hoops
