8/29/01: verballed to Auburn.

8/15/01: "told us that he has narrowed his list to just Auburn, LSU, and Florida. All three have offered scholarships. After a terrific ABCD Camp where he made the all star game, Marco has emerged as one of the hardest working interior players in the nation. He took an unofficial visit to Auburn a couple of weeks ago and hopes to visit LSU and Florida later this month. Right now he says that all three schools are even, and he will likely make a fall decision. Look for Marco at Durham Emmanuel in North Carolina this year where he will join 6'2 Jonathan Hargett, 6'8 Harvey Thomas, 6'7 Tyrone Salley, and 6'7 265 lbs junior Mario Boggan." - All Star Report

7/28/01: "Another player who is soaring up the rankings this summer is Marco Killingsworth (6-foot-8, 225 pounds) from Montgomery, Alabama. The muscular Killingsworth has a chiseled physique and a smoother game. Every time I see Marco play, he shows me something new in his offensive repertoire. Very few players can take it to the rack with the authority of Killingsworth. His outside shot is the one knock on his game, but his range from 17 feet and in is actually pretty good. Last season for Sidney Lanier H.S., Killingsworth averaged 18 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks a game. This coming season, Marco will team with Jonathan Hargett in Durham, NC playing for Emanuel Christian Academy. It should be awesome watching those two thoroughbreds running the floor! Although coaches are beginning to flock to Marco, the leaders for him are Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, UConn and some others. If I were a college coach, Killingsworth is one player that I would put near the top of my wish list because he is one of those players who combines enormous talent with a great work ethic. Like Ousmane Cisse, Killingsworth almost always outworks his opponent. When you combine that desire to be the best with his talent, you have a scary player." - Border Wars Hoops

7/19: 12th best PF in USA - " 6-8/220, Durham, N.C./Full Emanuel Gospel -- Cincinnati, Clemson, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Alabama, Alabama-Birmingham, Auburn, Tennessee.
Immensely gifted lefty causes havoc in the paint. Very strong. When he learns how to play inside, watch out." - Steve Wacaser, Sporting News

7/17: "Also impressing us yesterday at the adidas Big Time Tournament was 6'8 Marco Killingsworth from Durham (Emmanuel) NC. His list of schools includes Kansas, Auburn, Florida, Alabama, UAB, and LSU." - HoopScoop

7/15: "was one of the bigger surprises at the adidas ABCD Camp last week. Killingsworth, who will attend Emmanuel Academy in Durham, N.C. this fall, told us that he has a top list of Georgia Tech, California, Cincinnati, Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Louisiana State. He said he also has an interest in Clemson and Florida State. Killingsworth made the top 30 senior all-star game at the adidas ABCD Camp last week. As a junior at Lanier H.S. in Montgomery, Killingsworth averaged 18 points, 16 rebounds and six blocks per game. Killingsworth tips the scales at a chiseled 235 pounds, and the shaved head and goatee he sports complete the menacing look he portrays on the court. Killingswoth said he has a 2.7 GPA but will not take the ACT until the fall. He plans on traveling with Kenny Harris' Alabama Ice program this summer to the adidas Big Time Tournament and the Best of the Summer Tournament.

7/14: 4th best PF at ABCD Camp. - All Star Report

7/13: "Give me Marko Killingsworth or Jason Maxiell instead of Eddy Curry; I get a harder worker and a 3 or 4 year player instead of a "one year wonder." - Randy Shinkle

7/11: "What’s smoother, Marco Killingsworth’s (Durham, NC) game or his gold front teeth ?" - HoopsTV

7/11: Averaged 16 PPG (3rd best) and 6.5 RPG (9th best) and 1.6 BPG (6th best) at the ABCD Camp. Also shot 55% from the field (7th best). Listed as the 7th best player in camp overall by Insiders Report.

7/10: Marco Killingsworth (Durham, NC) 22 pts., 5 rebs., 3 stls., 5 blks in todays game. - HoopsTV

7/10: "Harvey Thomas and 6-8 Marco Killingsworth (Emmanuel Christian H.S./Durham, N.C.), a native of Alabama, will form a tremendous twosome at their boarding school next year (as seniors). Killingsworth is a mobile power forward with a good first step. A lefty with a nice mid-range touch, Killingsworth is a tough matchup away from the basket for most power players. And he's not too shabby when it comes to rebounding." - ESPN/Recruiting USA

7/10: "On the Prepstars site for the New Jersey camp, Marco Killingsworth stated that UC (along with 3 other schools) has offered him a scholarship. He's rated #100 by prepstars, but has been dominating the camp at power forward, and was rated the 18th best college prospect at the camp." - Carl Patterson, contribution.

7/10: Selected to the ABCD Senior All Star game, July 10, 2000 - Insiders Report

7/9: "Marco Killingsworth, a 6-8, 225-pound forward from Emmanuel Academy in Durham, North Carolina, has been a consistent good performer so far at the ABCD camp in New Jersey this week. Killingsworth has scored 13, 14, 12, and 15 points in the four games he has played thus far. "I am trying to work on my perimeter game more," Killingsworth said. "My strength is my inside game." Killingsworth is correct. He can score from in close and he is a very good rebounder. Killingsworth said he is wide open right now. "I am interested in Florida, LSU, Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida State, West Virginia, Syracuse, and Georgia Tech," he said. "But I have not closed the door on any school yet." Killingsworth will head to Las Vegas and then California on the ADIDAS tour. "Maybe if I improve enough I can go to the NBA," Killingsworth said. "It's a goal of mine." Only time will tell. - Insiders Report

7/8: "Marco Killingsworth is a 6'8" combo forward from Durham, NC. Killingsworth is showing very nice skills at this years ABCD Camp. Marco should pickup much more interest from high-major colleges after his performaqnce this weekend. We spoke with Marco and he told us he thinks camp is going well so far and that he's held his own. He wants to get exposure and see exactly what level he's at. His favorite schools are Cincinnati, LSU, Florida, Georgia Tech, Alabama and Auburn. He expects to make a decision after the summer is over. He sees himself as a small forward at the college level He has a 2.7-2.8 GPA and hasn't taken the SAT yet. He said that he would take it in September. - ACC Recruiting Update

7/6: "Durham (NC) Emanuel Full Gospel boasts a strong lineup next season. Jonathan Hargett will run the point, Tyrone Sally will play the WG, Harvey Thomas will be the power forward and Deonte Thomas will be the team's center. However, according to Emmanuel coach Mike White, the WF will be Marco Killingsworth from Alabama." - Rivals100Hoops

6/5: "Marco Killingsworth, a 6-foot-8, 230 pound physical specimen from Montgomery, Alabama, is the type player who can basically do it all on the basketball court. Killingsworth, who will play next season in Durham, NC (Emmanuel Christian), is a natural forward with the ability to play all five positions. His strong, physical body can absorb the punishment in the paint, but his ballhandling skills and shooting ability allow him to roam on the perimeter as well. Killingsworth is also an engaging young man who will make a great addition to a college team on and off the court. Although Marco is interested in several schools, he mentioned LSU, Cincinnati, UConn and Miami first, before saying that Clemson, Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee are all still in the running. Any of these schools would be lucky to land this versatile star! Look for Marco to improve his ranking throughout the summer with his stellar play. On the court, he combines raw power and agility with an intensity very few play with these days. Border Wars Hoops will keep you updated on his progress throughout the year." - BorderWarsHoops

6/2: "Marco Killingsworth - Montgomery, AL -- a BF/WF from Alabama and a member of the Class of 2001, plays AAU ball for the Alabama Ice. Killingsworth is receiving recruiting attention from Cincinnati, Clemson, Louisiana State, Miami-FL, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee and Louisiana Tech. - Rivals100Hoops.com
