06/16/08: Sallie, a 6-5 guard from City College of San Francisco, will indeed play his first NCAA basketball game next season. Within the next week or so, he'll know where. Sallie arrived in Memphis on Saturday night for his official visit and said Sunday he will take a trip to Kentucky next week before making a decision. Cincinnati, Maryland and Oregon State have also been mentioned prominently in his recruitment. "I don't want to prolong this," Sallie said. "I need to get into a school and get down there as soon as possible so I can get with a team, get familiar with a team. The summer is a big part of creating team bonds and players knowing their roles. It's very important." - Memphis Comm Appeal
06/11/08: Listed as Northern California, First Team, All-State Team by JCHoops.com, even though he was just a freshman.

06/06/08: Sallie verbally committed to Washington, while at Patterson Prep. However, he failed to qualify academically and spent another year in prep school at Laurinburg. He signed with Nebraska, but was ruled ineligible in early September of 2006. Sallie transferred to City College of San Francisco and sat out last year. He averaged 17 points per game this season as he led the Rams to a 29-4 mark and was named California Community College Player of the Year. Sallie was expected to head back to Nebraska, but was recently ruled ineligible by the Big 12 for violating Rule 6.2, which state a student who enrolls must meet initial eligibility requirements or he will never be allowed to play for any Big 12 school. Sallie is hearing from schools such as Memphis, Cincinnati and Maryland and would have three years of eligibility remaining after earning his associates degree. - HoopMasters.com
05/29/08: Roburt Sallie committed to Washington out of high school but failed to meet academic requirements. He enrolled at prep school and after a year, committed to NU to play in 2006/07. The NCAA denied him entrance after Sallie could not produce any homework from his year at prep school. Sallie had provided test scores and transcripts, but after 3 appeals he was still denied.
Here is what cost NU a shot at possibly the best player they have ever signed. Sallie, while waiting for the appeal from the NCAA in 2006, enrolled (or someone else did on his behalf) in NU, paying his own way. This was in violation of Big 12 conference rule 6.2 which reads in part "any student-athlete who enrolls at a conference institution, part time or full time, must meet NCAA initial eligibility requirements".
Since the NCAA hadn't cleared Sallie, he was in violation of this rule. Nebraska asked for a waiver from the Big 12 Board, comprised of faculty athletic representatives. - HuskerZone
