04/29/07: Bost showed his toughness at the King James event in Akron. Will fire into the lane as though he is built like a prize fighter, as opposed to the smaller Satterfield-like frame he carries. Sees the floor well and loves to run the break. Is a very good shooter from deep, but loves the 'track team' style of play. - Mike Ryan

"He's just completed three of the best months in recent memory for any high school athlete. In December, he was MVP of Concord's N.C. 3A state championship game, scoring the winning points on a 10-yard quarterback sweep in overtime."

06/08/06: It had already been a big year for Dee Bost. The Concord High School basketball standout scored his 1,000th career point earlier this year, his junior season, and played a key role as the Spiders finished as state 3A runnerup.

Bost followed those accomplishments over Memorial Day weekend by winning most outstanding player honors in the prestigious Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions. Bost's 16-and-under team, the Carolina Raptors, won the title over six games played at the Smith Center in Chapel Hill, Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham and N.C. Central in Durham.

CHS coach Andy Poplin told the Independent Tribune on Wednesday night that Gibbons called to invite Bost to the Top 100 Camp, to be held June 20-25 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.
