11/10/06: "Thursday the Bearcats announced the signing of 6-foot-3 shooting guard Larry Davis of Houston and 6-6 small forward Rashad Bishop of Newark, N.J. "I'm extremely excited about Larry and Rashad," Cronin said. "I expect both guys to be here four years. Both guys can score the ball." He can drain the three point shot and will pull up in the paint and elevate over his opponents. He is a good defender that is very bouncy, which helps with deflections and easy steals for transition points. Larry is has good handles and will push the ball in the open court. 08/08/06: "The University of Cincinnati's newest basketball recruit is a "hip-hop version of Field Williams." Thats how Jim Hicks of the RCS Sports scouting service in Houston described Larry Davis, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Houston's Hastings High School, who orally committed to UC on Tuesday.

He's the second member of UC head coach Mick Cronin's 2007 recruiting class, joining forward Mike Williams, a transfer from Texas, who will be at UC this season, but must sit out until 2007-08 under NCAA rules for transfers. Davis, who's expected to sign a letter-of-intent in November, averaged 14 points, six rebounds and 4.5 steals as a junior at Hastings, which is expected to be one of the top-ranked teams in Texas this season.
