05/25/06: "the visit to UC went so well Thabeet is seriously contemplating about ending his recruiting process." - www.ScoutHoops.com
05/23/06: Hasheem Thabeet, the 7-foot-3 center who visited the University of Cincinnati last week, could make his decision by the end of this week. Mark McClanahan, Thabeet's coach at Cypress Community School in Houston, said Monday that Thabeet wants to complete an internet English course he's taking before choosing where he'll go to school in the fall.
McClanahan said Thabeet should finish the course by the end of the week. "He told me that after he finishes the English class he wants to figure out if he wants to visit any other schools," McClanahan said. "If he does, he'll set those (visits) up. If he doesn't, it'll be between Cincinnati and Connecticut." UC and UConn are the only two schools Thabeet has visited." - Enquirer.com
05/18/06: Hasheem Thabeet, a 7-foot-3, 265-pound center from Cypress Community School in Houston, arrived on campus Thursday to make an official recruiting visit. He also has visited Connecticut. Louisville, Miami (Fla.) and Southern California are the other three schools on his list of finalists, according to Cypress coach Mark McClanahan, who said Thabeet will decide after he finishes his UC visit if he wants to check out the other schools." - www.enquirer.com
05/13/06: I received confirmation today that Thabeet was >not< in town today or yesterday and he is still scheduled to visit the weekend of May 20th. (So if someone saw a 7 footer on campus, it wasnt Thabeet.) - Mike Ryan
05/10/06: Thabeet will be visiting the weekend of May 20th. - Mike Ryan
05/09/06: "Thabeet's biggest asset, though, is his ability to rebound and block shots. He also sets himself apart from many foreign players because he has a mean streak in him that often comes out on the court. While his English is impressive, Thabeet still needs to pull up his test score in order to become eligible as a freshman." - www.ScoutHoops.com
05/01/06: "Unsigned 7-foot-3 senior Hasheem Thabeet was terrific for much of the weekend in leading the Houston Jr. Hardballers deep into the playoffs. Thabeet, who came to Houston about a year ago from Tanzania, mentioned UConn, Cincinnati, Texas, Miami and Oklahoma State. He said playing time will be the biggest factor." - www.ScoutHoops.com
05/01/06: "Thabeet's academic standing is a concern, but the Huskies, Baylor, Auburn, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State, Oklahoma, USC and many others are pursuing the Texas big man who averaged 13.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and four blocks per game this past season." - www.RivalsHoops.com
04/27/06: ". . . should he qualify he'd have a pick of the litter school wise. He's waiting on his SAT score to come back." - www.ScoutHoops.com
04/18/06: "He got the crowd on its feet after catching the ball on the wing (in transition) at the three-point line extended, putting the ball on the floor twice and spinning off of a defender for a one handed dunk. He followed up that sensational move by completing the same move on the other side of the floor a few minutes later." - www.RivalsHoops.com
