06/20/06: Listed as the 13th best player in 2007 in the nation. - www.HoopScoopOnline.com

06/09/06: "Right now it's really just Ohio State, Florida, Illinois and Memphis. . . ." (dropped to inactive)

05/11/06: Ranked #41 in his class by www.RivalsHoops.com (Mayo, #1)

05/01/06: "new Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin also was at all of the D-I Greyhounds' games to watch Mayo, Walker, and 6'7 Jr Alex Tyus from Cincinnati (Harmony Christian) OH." - www.HoopScoopOnline.com

04/15/06: "Not known for his outside shooting, Tyus did drain a couple nice looking 17-footers. He even created space for mid-range jumper on a couple plays with some nifty ball handling. As always, he was very active on the glass and had a number of blocks. Without the services of Mayo and Walker, Tyus kept the Greyhounds in the game with 12 points in the first half, but he only managed 3 points in the second half as the game slipped away." - RivalsHoops.com

03/14/06: "Recruiting is still moving at the pace it has been all season, he said. Tyus mentioned Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Memphis and Miami as the schools he consistently hears from but is keeping the door cracked open for others. "I still haven't narrowed it down but I'm open to a couple of schools," Tyus said. Connecticut, Texas and Washington are amongst those Tyus said he hopes turns the heat up on him this year on the AAU circuit." - RivalsHoops.com

01/16/06: He's more mature, is playing harder, and he's an absolutely crazy athlete. He's got a penchant for showing up out of nowhere to throw down an impossible tip jam or send a shot into the bleachers. He’s fast up and down the court, very quick around the hoop and his shooting is much improved. He's not a kid who is going to step outside and light anybody up from three point land, but he looks good on from 8-12 feet and that's all he needs to be able to do. There isn't a lack of interest from colleges and the likes of Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Syracuse, UCLA and several others have all been keeping tabs. He almost got his game to the level where he's going to become a priority recruit for some big time programs." - ScoutHoops.com

12/14/05: "Harmony Prep's Alex Tyus is a very interesting player in that he doesn't really stand out in one particular area of the game, but he just seems to get it done each and every time he steps out on the floor. While not overwhelmingly skilled, Tyus is a pleasure to watch each and every time he steps on the floor due to his great work ethic and nonstop motor. The transfer from St. Louis is a bit undersized for the power forward position at only 6'8, but he is so remarkably active, long, and athletic that he will definitely be able to make up for his lack of size at the collegiate level. Alex is supposedly working very hard on his perimeter skills, but still needs plenty of work on his ball-handling and defense before he can be considered a legitimate small forward prospect. Regardless of his skill level however, Tyus gets it done each and every time he steps on the floor and will definitely be a very nice college player at the bare minimum.” - DraftExpress.com
