Keith Jackson

Class of 2001
Position: SG
School: Purcell Marian
City: Cincinnati, OH
Height: 6-3
Interest: 1

9/5: "has given Skip Prosser's Xavier program an early verbal commitment. ASR received confirmation from Keith's mother in regards to the commitment. Few players saw their stock rise as much as Jackson's did after his superb performance at the Nike All-American Camp this past July. In Jackson, Xavier gets an athletic wing player who is great in transition and can finish on the break above the rim. His jumper from long range also improved over the course of the summer." - AllStar Report

8/3: "UC HAS ALREADY STOPPED RECRUITING ME. THEY STOPPED A LONG TIME AGO." - Keith Jackson, MidWest Hoops mssg board

Jackson also mentioned that UC did not offer him a scholarship.

8/3: "The Wolverine spoke with 6-5 WF/2G Keith Jackson of Cincinnati Purcell-Marian on Thursday. According to Jackson, who has already taken unofficial visits to most of the schools on his list, he will be visiting Michigan this week. Jackson said that he is likely to visit Tennessee this week as well. He is not far from a decision, and told The Wolverine which schools are on his list, who has been recruiting him the hardest, when he might make a commitment, and what interests him about U-M." - The Wolverine

8/1: "I narrowed my list to Xavier, Michigan State and Dayton, but after playing well at the Nike Camp, new colleges started to recruit me," Jackson said. "I'm hoping to visit Michigan and Tennessee and then make a decision." - FoxSports

7/28: "AAU Championships -- After a close first half of play, Cincinnati AAU Black pulled away in the second half for a 70-53 victory over the Illinois Wildcats. Cincinnati AAU Black 70 Illinois Wildcats 53. SUMMARY: After a close first half of play, Cincinnati AAU Black pulled away in the second half for a 70-53 victory over the Illinois Wildcats. Matt Sylvester scored 15 of his game high 24 points in the second half, while Keith "Action" Jackson added 19 for Mike Price's squad." - Insiders Report

7/26: "Bob Huggins (Cincinnati), Gerald Purcell (Dayton), Jim O'Brien (Ohio State), Skip Prosser (Xavier) and seemingly every other guy who's ever coached in the state of Ohio were courtside to watch a Cincinnati-based team play the Central Massachusetts Athletic Club Tuesday night. The Cincinnati team has four of the Midwest's elite prospects in 6-4 Keith Jackson (Parcell-Marian High in Cincinnati), 6-9 Adam Waleskowski (Kettering Alter High in Dayton), 6-6 Matt Sylvester (Moeller High in Cincinnati) and 6-8 Jordan Cornette (St. Xavier High in Cincinnati)." - F. Burlison, FoxSports

7/19: "Perhaps no one in the country has done more to help themselves over the last two weeks than 6'5 Wing Guard Keith Jackson of Cincinnati Purcell-Marian. Jackson exploded onto the scene at the Nike Camp and has been on fire ever since. Several new schools have now expressed interest in K.J. After a week of dunks, three pointers, and fancy drives to the basket at Nike, 6'5 Keith Jackson was a player on the rise in recruiting circles. Then with little fan fare he slipped down the street to play in the Hoosier shootout the day after Nike camp ended. The results took him to a new level in the eyes of the college coaches. With over 50 college coaches looking on and watching his every move, Jackson but on what many have called the best performance of the summer. He scored 17 points in 2 minutes and 50 seconds on a variety of dunks, drives and deep jumpers that let every one know that Nike wasn't a fluke. Jackson always had interest from college coaches and was down to a top three before all this happened. Xavier, Michigan St., and Dayton were his favorites and maybe still are. But now the likes of UConn, Michigan, Iowa, Florida, Iowa St., and Louisville are all picking up the pace on Jackson. Jackson said " I really liked the schools that were already recruiting me but you have to at least look at schools like Michigan, Louisville & Uconn." - MidWest Hoops

7/19: "I know that (Keith) would like to stay close to home" - John Stovall, MidWest Hoops

7/18: "10th ranked SF in the USA. Keith Jackson, 6-5/197, Cincinnati/Purcell Marian -- Ohio State, Dayton, Xavier, Clemson, Villanova, others: At Kentucky Hoops Fest final last week, logged the summer's best short stretch of playing time: 17 points with three 3s, two steals, two blocks and two assists in 4:28." - Steve Wacaser, Sporting News

7/14: "An electrifying athlete, Jackson wowed several college coaches with his play at the Nike Camp. He slashes to the basket, could be a defensive stopper and has great size for a shooting guard. Also a good shooter, Jackson only needs to improve his halfcourt ballhandling to complete his game. He'll also be a four-year starter at Purcell Marian. Heading into the Nike Camp, he had scholarship offers from Xavier and Dayton, and interest from Michigan State and Cincinnati. But he'll likely have heavy interest from several more national powers. Jackson will play with Cincinnati AAU this summer. They'll be at Jerry Watson's tourney in Columbus, Ohio, July 20-21, and the AAU 17-and-under nationals in Orlando, Fla." - FoxSports

7/12: "Ohio prospect Keith Jackson had an unbelievable week at Nike. His stock is on the rise, and that's not good news for Cincinnati Coach Bob Huggins, who was seen watching a number of his games." -AllStar Report

7/11: Listed as the 2nd best SG at the Nike Camp. - FastBreak

7/11: "Keith Jackson has reportedly caught a lot of coaches' eyes with his play at Nike, as Michigan was one of many schools to take a look at him in action. According to Midwest Hoops, Jackson "had the game of his life" on Saturday, when he "lit up the gym . . . with an impressive display of dunks, jumpers, and great defensive plays." Prep Stars also praised his play, and said that while Jackson mentioned Michigan State, Xavier, Dayton, Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Kentucky, he is likely to see increased interest in the coming days and weeks. - Michigan.rivals

7/8: "Today, in front of over 200 college coaches and media writers one of the Midwest top players had the game of his life. I mean I have seen him play 20 times and knew he was a very good player. In fact, we are the only ones who have him in the top 100 players list. 6'5 Wing Guard Keith Jackson from Cincinnati Purcell-Marion H.S just made his college recruiting a whole lot more interesting. Keith lit up the gym today with an impressive display of dunks, jumpers, and great defensive plays, that had every major college running to me to ask more about him. Keith has been on fire this week and it is apparent to me that he has been working hard on his skills. It's paid off bigtime as he was the best player on the floor this afternoon." - Midwest Hoops

5/24: "Keith Jackson has Louisville on his list, but I don't think they are in his top 3-4 right now. If I was Louisville I would pick it up on him. He is their type of player. Xavier wants him bad, and UC is high on him too." -MidwestHoops

5/22: "a very athletic 6'4 wing player from Cincinnati Purcell Marian H.S was in action the weekend with his Cincinnati AAU team in Toledo,OH at the Glass City Tournament. Jackson was outstanding and showed some improved ball skills to go with his high wire act. In the first game I watched Jackson had 24 points (7 dunks). Jackson told Midwesthoops that he is wide open for college but does have these schools high on his list: Ohio St, Dayton, Xavier, Iowa, Clemson, Michigan St., Cincinnati, and Louisville." - Midwest Hoops

3/23: listed as the 10th best player in Ohio. - Midwesthoops

1/24: "6'5 190 lb. junior swingman Keith Jackson from Cincinnati (OH) Purcell Marian HS has led his team to a perfect 11-0 record and number 1 ranking in the state. Jackson has been steady this season, averaging 14 points and 13 rebounds while maintaining a 3.0 GPA in the classroom and scoring a 950 on the PSAT. "At the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach (SC) Jackson led Purcell Marian to the AllTel Challenge Bracket Championship, beating Parkersburg (WV) South HS, Shawnee (NJ) HS and Myrtle Beach (SC) HS en route. "Jackson's early list of schools includes in-state powers Cincinnati, Xavier, Ohio State and Dayton, ALL OF WHOM HAVE ALREADY PUT SCHOLARSHIP OFFERS ON THE TABLE [emphasis author's]. Michigan State has also shown a lot of interest, and Jackson told us that he likes Clemson a lot, although they have just recently gotten involved in the recruiting process. This season he has attended the Ohio State - Minnesota game and the Cincinnati - Xavier game. "Keith is still looking at schools and insists that he is wide open." It says a lot when a school recruiting at UC's level has already offered a HS junior a scholarship. Very interesting. - Randy Shinkle & AllStarReport
