04/18/06: "Shooting guard Jamar Smith of San Bernardino Valley College averaged 22.7 points per game this past season and is now contemplating his future playing at the division one level. Several schools have shown interest and a few at the high major level are still in contact. He is planning to visit Cincinnati this weekend and at some point he could come back to his home city of Minneapolis to visit. At about 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Smith is one of the most athletic players in the nation who is still available."
After averaging 24.3 points per game at Marshalltown in Iowa last year, Jamar came home to play in the Pro City league in Minneapolis were he averaged 19.5 points per game and he made the all-Pro City third team. He then moved out to California to play at San Bernardino Valley College. This summer he will again come home to wow the fans of the Pro City league with his explosive first step, his thunderous high-rising jams and an ability to make plays in the open floor. - RivalsHoops.com

07/14/05: This past year, Jamar Smith finally got a chance to play a full season of basketball. After going to high school at Minneapolis Patrick Henry and playing very little, Jamar decided to attend Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa and he helped the team go 25-9 this past year. He's currently averaging 24.3 points a game in the Minneapolis Pro City summer league and is exciting fans with his amazing dunks and explosive moves to the basket. Jamar's received attention from a few division-one schools and with his continued improvement, you can bet that a great number of teams will be watching him closely this winter." - RivalsHoops.com
