07/31/06: "This kid is a prospect who routinely shows flashes of what he can do. At his size he runs the floor swiftly, is a very good athlete and the talent is evident. Give him time and watch him prove himself as a player." - www.ScoutHoops.com
07/09/06: Listed as the 6th best center at the Nike All America Camp. - HoopScoop
07/07/06: "Gibson's pre-summer play didn't quite meet expectations. In his first game on Friday, he met and exceeded them. Two mid-range jumpers to go with his overall body of work at both ends in the paint was enough to the big timers excited about him again." - ScoutHoops.com
07/07/06: "Gibson told Rivals.com that he isn't committing to Kansas State or Cincinnati but liked both schools. The schools aren't alone. Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Florida and Georgia are recruiting him as well. Gibson said he'd like to hear more from UConn, North Carolina and Duke. . . ." - www.RivalsHoops.com
06/20/06: ". . . the schools who have expressed the most interest are Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Georgia Tech." - ScoutHoops.com

04/23/06: "The long big man had another lackluster outing, especially on the offensive end. He passes the look test and has plenty of potential, but the production isn't there. . . " - www.ScoutHoops.com
04/18/06: "As a sophomore this past season, Gibson averaged 16.5 points and 7 rebounds a game. According to the 6-foot-9 center from Northview, he did so even during a unique setting. “We had a funny system. Our coach is a pump you up guy and we played like on the streets, we played how we know how to play."
"Gibson said he works out with some people close to him around town. He had an uncle who went to Cincinnati so in addition to the aforementioned schools, the Bearcats might be wise to blow a call into him." - ScoutHoops.com
04/14/06: Xavier Gibson, a 6-foot-9 big man out of Dothan (Ala.) Northview, said that Florida State, Alabama and Georgia Tech were pursuing him with some intensity. He has an uncle who played at Cincinnati though Gibson, only a member of the Class of 2008, admits he doesn't dwell on recruiting much. "I don't even think about it much. I just look at it day by day. I'll go see how I like it (on unofficial visits) and fit in but I know I've got a lot of time so I don't even focus on it right now." - www.ScoutHoops.com
11/29/05: Listed as the 14th best player nationally, in his class. - www.HoopScoopOnline.com
08/11/05: Listed as the 3rd best player in his class. (Cincinnati's Yancy Gates is #5 on the same list) - ScoutHoops.com
