Height: 5-10
Interest: 1
11/5: verbally commited to South Florida - Ohio Preps
10/5: "Swift is looking hard at Akron and South Florida. He says the Bulls have a lead and he’s going to visit either Oct. 14 or Nov. 4. Marquette had been under consideration, but with the commitment of Travis Diener, interest on both sides has apparently faded." - Rivals100 Hoops
9/13: "Has narrowed his list down to UNCC, South Florida, Marquette, Akron, Tulane and Wisconsin. Look for the three time All-Stater to make a decision very soon." - Ohio Preps
8/22: "Cleveland area basketball scout Mike Duncan is reporting that 5'9 PG Brian Swift is transferring to Warrensville Heights H.S. in Ohio. Duncan also notes that Swifts former H.S. Coach Greg Kraley is leaving Bedford Chanel to accept a position on the University of Akron staff. Swift is a super little floor leader who excels in transition. He makes great passes and has a real feel for the game. He is currently being recruited by Cincinnati, UNC-Charlotte, Wisconsin, Marquette, and South Florida." - OhioPreps
8/13: "July was a very busy month for (Swift). Three straight weeks against some of the best players and teams in the country. He has narrowed his schools to five: Marquette, Cincinnati, UNCC, South Florida, and Xavier. But, lately Tulane has been pushing and pushing trying to get in." - Ohio Preps mssg board, response from 'Staff'
8/5: "a slick 5-10, 150 pound point guard from Bedford Chanel H.S. in Bedford, Ohio, told us he is down to five schools -- Marquette, South Florida, Cincinnati, UNC-Charlotte, and Wisconsin. They have all offered scholarships, according to Swift. He plans on signing early. He previously listed Xavier, Ohio State, and Pittsburgh. A true point guard with excellent floor vision and a flair for the no-look pass, Swift averaged 21 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals per game this past season at Bedford Chanel. He says he has a 2.7 GPA. Swift isn't sure if he will take any unofficial visits in August." - Insiders Report
8/3: "Brian Swift is pretty good. He is a good scorer and solid long-range shooter, both set and off the dribble. He showed us improved decisions and penetrating skills at the Adidas camp. WITH CINCY OFFERING, we expect him to commit there soon and sign in November, as he does want to stay relatively close to home and play at a high major level." - Schmidt Bro's, All Star Report
8/2: "updated us yesterday on where he stands in his recruitment. Swift HAS BEEN OFFERED A GRANT BY CINCINNATI and says "I really want to go there." The Bearcats will get one of the top of the line point guards in the class of 2001, if Swift accepts the offer. Swift also noted that UNC-Charlotte, Marquette and Wisconsin are on his list. He has qualified on the SAT and holds a 2.7 GPA. Swift has all the tools of a high major guard but doesn't get the looks of the scouts or college coaches due to his lack of height and size. Swift has excellent speed, a great shot and superb passing ability from the lead guard spot." - HighMajorHoops and Tom Schroeder
7/21: "Brian Swift of Chanel High in Bedford, Ohio, has also been offered by Memphis, South Florida and several other schools." - Charlotte Observer

College of Interest: Cincinnati, Marquette, Houston, UNCC, Xavier, Wisconsin. Word of Note: Swift took over the scrimmage last night and run a solid show. He's the leader of that team on offense and defense. - CASS Ohio ABCD Pre-Camp Report
7/6: "Swift says that he has offers on the table from UNC-Charlotte, Wisconsin, Marquette, Iowa State, Western Michigan, South Florida and Virginia Tech. Don't be surprised if this up and coming PG winds up playing somewhere in Conference USA." - Rivals100Hoops
6/27: "Mike Duncan, the head coach for the Cleveland Basketball Club called HMH yesterday to update the situations surrounding some of his better players. 'Brian Swift is fully qualified now, scoring an 890 on his SAT, and also has a 2.7 GPA' said Duncan. Swift's list according to Duncan is Cincinnati, Ohio State, Pitt, UNC-Charlotte, Marquette and recent addition Michigan State, who have been trying to "get involved lately." Swift is a 5'10 point guard with the ability to hold his own against the premium in the class of 2001 in our opinion. - High Major Hoops
6/18: Swift attended some Summer League games over the weekend with Omari Westley.
6/19: from Brian's board on CASS . . "I think I would compare my game to no one. I have many skills that many Point Guards can't do at the same time. Yes Cincy is recruiting me and yes i am very interested in Cincy and I hope they are very interested in me. Oh yeah I would love playing with Wad, Omar, and K.T (Torbert). I think if we all went there we would have the best incoming freshman class." - Brian Swift
Swift posted on 5/17: "Right now I don't know of making an unofficial visit but I am highly interested in Cincy."
Swift posted on 5/12: "Omari and I are boys (friends). We've played together before and we know each other very well on the court. I love playing with Omari because he plays so hard and he is afraid of no one. I think Omari will go to Cincy because I think that is a good style for him and he will play there."
Swift posted on 5/12: "I think if he entered the draft I will be more interested in Cincy because they play the style I like to play and I feel that with him gone and only Logan as the Point Guard I feel I would play much if I decided to go to Cincinnati."
Swift posted on 5/7: "Right now me, Jawad Williams, and Omari Wesley are discussing playing for the same school, but who knows we all may separate."
2/21/00: "Ohio Editor Chris Johnson tells us that the Temple-Dayton game last week proved to be a major recruiting opportunity for both teams. Dayton had a number of the top underclassmen in the state on campus for unofficial visits, including 6'5 Jr Danny Horace from Cincinnati (Western Hill) OH, 6'8 Jr Adam Waleskowski from Kettering (Alter) OH, 5'11 Jr Brian Swift from Bedford (Chanel) OH, 6'8 Jr Elgrace Wilborn from Springfield (South) OH, 6'0 Soph Robert Hite from Cincinnati (Winton Woods) OH - HoopScoop
