Roster Bio
04/18/06: committed to Georgia.
04/13/06: "One of the most heavily recruited junior college players in the land the next few days will be Southeastern Illinois forward Takais Brown. But any school that hasn't secured a visit for Brown just might be left out in the cold. It appears the No. 6 junior college prospect in the land has narrowed his list to three and his decision could come as early as next week." - www.JucoJunction.com
4/10/06: Listed as the 6th best junior college prospect in the country. - Juco Junction
04/06/06: Takais Brown, who just completed his sophomore season at SIC, played in the National Junior College All-Star Game this past Sunday. Brown scored 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in the contest and was named Most Valuable Player, garnering even more interest from major colleges. Brown, who has already visited the University of Georgia, is now drawing interest from University of Oklahoma, Indiana University, Purdue, Cincinnati, University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) and University of Minnesota. "Takais dominated," said SIC coach Todd Franklin. "He is visiting UNLV this weekend and Purdue, Indiana, Cincy, and Minnesota are now heavily in the picture. He has already visited Georgia. . .these are the schools that are fighting to try and get him. There are a lot of teams on the periphery, too." - Harrisburg (IL) Daily Register
02/23/06: "A number of other schools are also looking at Brown but at this point there are no favorites. "I don't know that Takais has really listed anybody as his top teams," said coach Franklin. "To be honest we really don't do much with recruiting until the season is over. After are season is done he will decide on two or three schools he will like to see and that will be it but hopefully that won't be for awhile as we'd like to keep playing. It's going to be coming up quick though as you have graduation right around the corner. We never have guys taking all five of their visits here. Minnesota is one of a few that have been around all year long but we just don't do much with recruiting until the season is over." It's likely that Brown will make his decision after a couple visits or three at the most." - GopherIllustrated.com
02/13/06: "Takais Brown, a 6-foot-8, 245-pound forward from Southeastern Illinois (IL) CC, is one of the top JC big men in the country. Brown scored 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds last Wednesday in front of Minnesota assistant coach Bill Walker." - www.ScoutHoops.com
11/22/05: Scored 20 pts in a loss to Harmony Prep.
