04/19/06: Dropped from a 5 to a 4 with asst coach Savino's resignation.

04/18/06: ". . .believes Harvey is close to signing with UC, and would be a great fit. Also, that he thinks Harvey hasnt signed yet because he is talking to a 'highly rated PF friend of his' about the possibility of joining hiim at UC" - Jerry Meyer, RivalsHoops.com (the highly rated friend would be Lance Thomas, #42 ranked player in the country.)

04/18/06: Listed as the 67th best player in his class. - www.RivalsHoops.com

04/18/06: "The Bearcats were scheduled to host high school point guard Eugene Harvey of New Jersey on Monday. Harvey is being recruited by UC, Rutgers, Maryland and Florida." - Enquirer.com

04/13/06: "This point guard from Newark is heading to Cincinnati for a visit on Monday. If he signs with the Bearcats look for his prep teammate and five-star forward Lance Thomas to wind up at Duke. Harvey is also talking about visiting Maryland when he returns home and getting interest from Florida and Pitt." - www.RivalsHoops.com (4 to 5)

04/12/06: "Cincinnati just came into the picture, and then there's Maryland and Florida," the Newark (NJ) St. Benedict's product said. "I'm going to go visit Cincinnati on the 18th. Right after that, I'm going to go to Maryland. I'm going to make my decision after that." - www.PrepStars.com

04/12/06: "Harvey did a great job running the show for the East team, not backing down to the more heralded Mike Conley Jr. in the slightest bit. He showed great court vision throughout the game, but is still a bit on the small side and is not a good outside shooter. He is currently holding offers from Rutgers, USC, Maryland, and Illinois, but has said that he will attend Rutgers if high school teammate Lance Thomas goes there as well." - www.DraftExpress.com notes on the Roundball Classic.

04/08/06: Both Harvey and Thomas are still deciding their colleges. Harvey said he intends to visit Mick Cronin's Cincinnati program and Maryland. Thomas said he expects to choose between Duke and Rutgers - his finalists for some time now - in the next couple of weeks. Harvey played in one of the more notable matchups in the high school season this year when his St. Benedict's team lost to Oak Hill 78-72 in a nationally-televised game at the Prime Time Shootout in Trenton. Harvey went head-to-head against North Carolina-bound Tywon Lawson and held his own." - www.InsideHoops.com

04/07/06: "A good source has informed that Quincy (Douby) has decided to complete his education and continue his career at Rutgers. I am thrilled with his decision, as I'm sure all Rutgers fans are. It shows his continued maturation as a person. Hopefully this will be the impetus that brings Lance Thomas and Eugene Harvey as well." - NJ.com's Rutgers blog

03/28/06: "If Hill succeeds, he may get one of Thomas' St. Benedict's teammates in a package. Point guard Eugene Harvey (No. 160) was believed to be leaning toward the Knights before Waters' departure. Harvey has visited Rutgers and Southern Cal, with trips planned to Maryland and Illinois. He is an outstanding penetrator." - FayettevilleOnline's, Thad Mumau

03/28/06: "Two players already on new Rutgers' head coach Fred Hill's radar are Lance Thomas and Eugene Harvey, seniors at St. Benedict's Prep in Newark." - NY Times

03/23/06: "Harvey has gained the interest of a lot of programs but despite the looming beginning of the signing period, there is little rush to decide. "Eugene is really focusing on what he needs to get in the classroom," Hurley said. "He needs certain level of grades and academic success in order to guarantee his qualification next year. That's a huge focus for him. "He's currently fielding inquires from Maryland, Illinois and Seton Hall. For him there's no real urgency. Its probably two things: wait to see what Lance does because they are considering Rutgers together and he'll wait and see who goes where and who gets hired because he's not anybody's caddy." - www.ScoutHoops.com

03/13/06: "I'm still open," said Harvey. "I'm planning on visiting Maryland in about two weeks, and then I want to visit Illinois right after that. I'm also considering Rutgers and USC."

Harvey, who has already visited Rutgers and USC, does not intend on making a decision until after visiting Maryland and Illinois. However, if his teammate Lance Thomas were to commit to Rutgers, it is very likely that Harvey will join him. "If Lance goes to Rutgers, I will most likely go there too," he said." - www.RivalsHoops.com

02/27/06: "He's quick, strong and certainly can help a high-major from day one. Harvey has said that he would like to play with teammate Lance Thomas at the college level. The likeliest place would be Rutgers. Thomas is visiting Duke this weekend for the North Carolina game." - www.RivalsHoops.com

02/23/06: "One of the top remaining point guards in the Class of 2006, Eugene Harvey said Wednesday that he is seriously considering five college programs. The 5-11, 170 pound quickster from Brooklyn, N.Y., who scored 16 points to help lead St. Benedict's Prep to a 74-59 victory over Blair Academy, said he's looking at Southern California, Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland and Florida. Harvey took a pair of official visits in the Fall to Rutgers and USC. Rutgers is recruiting both Harvey and teammate Lance Thomas. - www.ScoutHoops.com
