"I never in my fondest dreams thought he would be where he's at now," said Hicks, who said Colorado, Boston College and Nebraska are calling. "People will be shocked when they see him play." "But I can't really name any other schools that I am particularly interested in." - RivalsHoops.com

10/29/04: "Coming into the adidas Super 64 event late in July, Jared Carter only had Western Kentucky and some local small schools recruiting him. After coaches saw his size and mobility, the 7-foot-2, 230-pound center from Scott Co. High School in Georgetown, Ky., has schools from coast to coast recruiting him. "I’m getting interest from Western Kentucky, Colorado, Nebraska, South Florida, Vanderbilt, Pepperdine, New Orleans, Boston College, and Illinois," said Carter, who played with the Derek Smith All Stars this summer. "I like Illinois, Boston College, South Florida, and Vanderbilt sounds good to me." All the schools mentioned by Carter watched him workout during the fall evaluation period.
