10/01/04: "Add Curtis Brown to the short list of players being recruited by the University of Kentucky from the class of 2005. UK head coach Tubby Smith went to see Brown, a 6-9 center at Mt. Olive Prep (Marietta, Ga.) last week. As of Thursday, Mt. Olive Prep coach Garrick Respress said no high major schools had offered the fifth-year senior a scholarship, but figures it might not be long before one of them does. Schools including Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, North Carolina and Georgia are among those that have shown an interest in Brown, who played at Beach High School in Savannah last season. "I would guess he would sign late unless a big school offered him soon," said Respress, a former Tennessee Tech assistant coach under head coach Mike Sutton, a former UK assistant coach and Smith disciple. "He was excited about the prospect of Kentucky recruiting him as any kid would be." In talking with Brown, Respress learned the University of Cincinnati was his favorite team to follow. "He's always loved the Bearcats," Respress said. Brown has not had any in-home visits from coaches or scheduled any official visits." - CincyPost.com

He’s got tremendous upside." - theInsidersHoops.com
