08/18/04: "He started off kind of slow this Summer, which may be attributed to playing with a new team (All-Ohio), but he had a solid showing at the all important Nike camp, which brought his stock back up, with the college coaches.

At the Spiece tournament early in the Spring, he wasn't aggressive in taking the ball to the rim, but instead settled for too many outside shots, almost like he was out to prove to his critics that he could shoot the ball from the outside. The only problem was that he wasn't making his outside shots, and instead of playing to his strengths, he was showing off the weaknesses in his game. Later in the Summer, Chris got back to playing his game, and he began to once again show that he could be a high D-I player.

I am a huge fan of Chris Knight's game. When he wants to, with his athletic ability, he can be a major force on both ends of the court.

As of right now, Chris' college list looks like this, Cincinnati, Ohio State, St. Joseph's, Seton Hall, Akron (offered), Dayton (offered), Seton Hall, and Xavier.

Look to Chris to team up with fellow senior Matt Pilgrim, and lead the Withrow Tigers to a big season in 2004-05." - Recruiting Nation

07/11/04: Listed as the 27th best player at the Nike camp and the 7th best WF. - HoopScoop

07/10/04: "Knight, a 6-7,190-pound senior forward from Cincinnati (OH) Withrow, isn't a player who will lead the way, but rather one who will hurt you if you leave him unattended." - PrepStars.com

07/09/04: "Chris Knight, 6-foot-7, 190-pounds, shot the ball very well from the three point line." - RivalsHoops.com

07/09/04: Knight is attending the Nike Camp in Indy. Other Cincinnatians there include Johnny Wolf (StX), Josh Chicester (Lakota West), and James Dews (Lakota East). - Mike Ryan

07/08/04: "That next level might include Michigan State, Indiana State, Dayton, Cincinnati, Akron, Illinois State or Xavier, all of whom have been in contact with Knight. "I went to Dayton recently (unofficially) and that went real well," said Knight, who claimed to have offers from Bowling Green and Wright State. "Cincinnati is probably (my leader) now that they are moving to the Big East. I like that competition in the Big East and the East Coast exposure." - OhioPreps.com (3 to 4)

05/05/04: PrepStars had a nice paragraph on Knight saying he is tough and able to hit the 12-15 footers.

05/04/04: "Chris blew a big opportunity this past weekend. Everyone in Cincinnati knows Chris can play, but he needs to prove that on a national level, and this tournament was the perfect place to do that. Unfortunately he didn't. He played uninspired basketball all weekend, and his shot was not falling. If Chris is to become the player that I know he can be, he's got to start hitting those open mid-range jumpers. That alone will take the rest of his game to another level." - Recruiting Nation.com

04/17/04: Chris is very athletic, and plays hard whenever he steps on the the court. At 6-5 he is a little thin, but he is a great rebounder, and shot blocker. The only thing that worries me about Chris, is that he hasn't shown much of an outside game, and in college he will need to hit some shot to keep defenses honest." - Recruiting Nation

04/09/04: Had 19 pts in a game with All Ohio Red against the NY City Gauchos.

02/14/04: "Knight scored 24 points as Cincinnati Withrow won 94-72 and claimed at least a share of the league title. The Tigers are now 14-5 and stand 7-2 in the Southwest Ohio Public League. The Tigers are looking poised to make a run in the state tournament with the way they have played late in the season.

02/12/04: "There’s an emerging talent in Ohio out of the junior class. Chris Knight, a perimeter player, is averaging 22 points out of Cincinnati Withrow High. By now, the recruiting world is well aware of Ohio standouts like B.J. Raymond and Jamelle Cornley. Now, it’s time to learn about another up and comer from the Buckeye state.
Chris Knight is a 6-5, 190 pounder out of Cincinnati Withrow High. He’s averaging 22 points a contest. He’s playing a lot of small forward and power forward for his team, but once the AAU season rolls around there’s no doubt he’ll be hoisting up shots as a perimeter player.

Knight scores high marks from those who have seen him in action. John Stovall, one of the scouts for www.prepspotlight.com, has Knight rated as the No. 2 wing guard in the state of Ohio. Despite the accolades, Knight says would like to work on his strength and his ball handling. "My strength is probably my going outside to shoot to mid-range," Knight said. Knight describes himself as a tall, lankly player who can dribble, block shots and rebound. “I can score.”

Cincinnati has been to see him on three occasions. On Tuesday night, head coach Bob Huggins was in the stands taking in his game. Xavier, St. Joseph’s and Seton Hall have also come to see him.

As for his recruiting situation, Knight pays little attention to it now. "I don’t know [about schools]. I just go out and play." - theInsidersHoops.com

01/11/04: "Withrow's 6'6 junior forward Chris Knight was simply awesome in carrying his team to an overtime victory over Dayton Dunbar. Knight scored an amazing 43 points while snagging 20 rebounds and blocking 10 shots. This is NOT a misprint, it was truly “unbelievable,” said Withrow head coach Steve Gentry. “Chris is taking the game more serious, he’s really trying to make his way to college. He wants everybody to know and see what he can do," added Gentry." - theInsidersHoops.com
