"Now, that list of schools can change and nothing is final, but those are my seven schools right now." As far has his official visits go, Rich hasn’t decided how many he will take or who he will visit. One thing is certain, leaving the state of Florida won’t be a problem for him." - InsidersHoops.com

07/01/03: "The talented guard from Tom Topping’s Nike Team Florida squad trimmed his list to seven schools on Monday. In alphabetical order Rich’s list includes Connecticut, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana and Southern Cal. All with the exception of Kansas and Kentucky have offered." - InsidersHoops.com (drop to Inactive)

06/18/03: "very smart shooting guard who can elevate to finish in the lane and also pulls up well for the mid-range shot. Has great basketball sense. Little shorter than you would like for the wing but has good strength and leaping ability to overcome that. IU did not jump in till after the Nike MDC so they may have an uphill climb. UConn, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Cincinnati - are among his listed schools along with the Hoosiers. Ranked #19 overall by RivalsHoops." - Peegs.com (Indiana)

06/06/03: "The best defense he’ll play this year just might be against colleges. While guys are committing left and right, Rich wants to wait until the fall to make a decision. Florida, Connecticut, Texas, Oklahoma, Indiana and Florida State have been there consistently. “After the Bloomington tournament, Kansas started showing interest and so did Indiana. "I’ve got a lot of late schools showing interest." - InsidersHoops

06/04/03: "Jason Rich, a savvy 6-foot-3, 190-pound shooting guard from Dr. Phillips H.S. in Orlando, Fla., has been offered scholarships by Florida State, Southern California, Cincinnati and Florida. Georgia Tech, UConn and Vanderbilt are also on Rich's early list. "My feelings are the same for all of the schools," Rich said. "We'll see who shows the most interest in me this summer. I would like to go somewhere that I can go in as a freshman and contribute," he added.

Rich added that he isn't in any particular rush to make a decision. In fact, he thinks that he could wind up using all five of his allotted official visits come the fall." - RivalsHoops.com (back to active - 3)

05/21/03: "One of Florida’s top prospects for the 2004 class, Jason Rich from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, is currently mulling over offers from several of the nation’s top programs and has a long list of favorites. "I’m probably interested in around 15 schools or so," Rich said. "I plan on narrowing it down as the season goes on but I’m not in a big rush. I want to give every school a chance to recruit me and I have to be fair to myself and listen to what they have to say."

Rich’s list of possible college destinations reads like a who’s who in college basketball today. Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Cal, Texas, and Stanford all survived Rich’s first cut but he indicated that his decision is not likely to come in the near future." - RivalsHoops.com (moved to inactive)

4/30: "This explosive scorer hit open jumper from arc on in and finished drive with either hand, including a couple of monster jams. He has a long list headed by Connecticut, Miami (FL), Florida State, Georgia Tech, Florida, Texas, Cincinnati, North Carolina, Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky." - HoopMasters.com

4/30: "Jason Rich has played well this spring with the Nike Team Florida squad. Over the weekend we ran into him and he had the following to say about his recruitment: "I'm definitely visiting Connecticut if they'll have me." The Huskies probably wouldn't mind hosting him on a visit." - FSU Insiders site

4/29: "Rich has long been a favorite of Cincinnati, but he said that Florida and UConn are the co-favorites." - http://www.prepstars.com/

4/29: "Rich has a great feel for the game, big-time athleticism, and a much improved 3-point shot, which means numerous college coaches were watching his every move and we were trying to figure out whether he should be ranked as high as top 30 in the junior class nationally." - HoopScoop

4/28/03: "Dr. Phillips and Team Florida standout Jason Rich is emerging as one of the top prospects in the Southeast and helped his stock this past weekend with an impressive showing at the 9th Annual Kingwood Classic. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Orlando, Florida native is an explosive athlete with the ability to finish strong at the basket. Rich is receiving interest from a host schools but currently lists Florida, UConn, Texas, Oklahoma and Cincinnati as his favorites. Don’t be surprised if the Gators make a strong push at keeping the athletic shooting guard from leaving the state. "I really like Coach (Billy) Donovan," Rich said. "He’s honest with you and he’s a hard worker, he makes players better." - RivalsHoops

4/26: "Jason Rich’s 24 points led Team Florida. Rich did a good portion of his damage from the perimeter where his jumper – especially his medium J – looks improved." - InsidersHoops

3/17/03: "Jason Rich made it clear that Cincinnati was his school of choice this past summer. The Orlando (FL) Dr. Phillips junior is more open these days and is hoping to attract the attention of some new schools in his final AAU campaign. The 6-4, 185-pound wing guard is extremely athletic and has a smooth personality to match his skills on the court. He’ll once again play for Otis Johnson’s Team Florida squad. Rich averaged 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists as a junior at Dr. Phillips after transferring from Lake Highland.

Rich still realizes that he needs to continue to work on his perimeter game in order to be successful in college and eventually make the NBA, and that’s why he’ll choose a college with player development in mind. "Cincinnati has somewhat moved down because of the year they’ve had," Rich said. "But I still respect Bob Huggins and the program. I’ve had a chance to go around Florida and I think they have a good program. The recruitment has really picked up with them and a few other schools."

Rich also mentioned that Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and UConn pique his interest. "Right now I can’t honestly say where I want to go," said Rich, who has a 3.0 GPA. "I just want to go somewhere that can help me get to the NBA, where I can improve and where I can get playing time." - PrepStars

2/17/03: "Jason Rich is averaging 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists this season. Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Miami, Georgia Tech, UConn, Texas and Oklahoma are recruiting him and Florida has offered. He’s been to Gainesville for an unofficial visit this season and won’t take any more until after his high school season ends." - InsidersHoops

11/29/02: "A prime-time run/jump athlete, he may be the number two junior guard in Orlando due to the presence of Darius Washington, but he’s an extremely promising prospect." Listed as the 11th best guard in his class, just behind Jamar Butler. - Prepstars.com

Oct 2002: List as "high" on the interest level on InsidersHoops for the Bearcat program.

7/8/02: "He was great at the Hoop Jamboree and he's starting to feel it here. The versatile and ultra-athletic Rich can play on the perimeter but is doubly dangerous when he dives to the blocks where he's comfortable shooting fadeaway jumpers right over defenders." - Sporting News
