9/29/02: "His trip to Cincinnati was cancelled when the Bearcats got Robert Whaley." - Rivals.com (moved to inactive)
9/5/02: "Harden averaged 10.4 points and seven rebounds per contest. Rivalshoops.com caught Harden in action three times last winter, and he had gotten into considerably better shape than when we had seen him last summer at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas. So while he's not a gazelle or overly athletic, Harden is a skilled, physical space-eater in the low post. "Style of play is really going to be important for him," Diddle pointed out. "His conditioning, although he's worked on it, is always a factor. He has very good offensive skills," Diddle continued. "He can shoot the medium range jump shot, he has good post moves and is a good passer. He also catches the ball very well. He has to be able to find a way to score against bigger people, because he's only 6-9, so he is going to have to be power oriented at times, and then also be able to finesse guys," Diddle concluded. "Style of play is everything to him." - Rivals.com

Aug 2002: "Leonard Harden is blessed with a rugged frame, good footwork and solid low post scoring skills, Harden could be one of the more coveted junior college big men in the Class of 2003. Harden signed with Duquesne out of high school but headed to the juco ranks as a result of academics and a coaching change at Duq." - Rivals bio info
5/20/02: "Leonard Harden, a 6-10, 240 pound freshman center from Garden City C.C. in Garden City, Kan., has a number of high major programs courting him this spring. A native of Detroit, Mich., Harden averaged 10.4 points and seven rebounds per contest in 2001-2002 for the Broncbusters. Schools he is interested in are Illinois, Texas A&M, Kansas State, South Florida, Texas Tech and UNLV. "Out of high school, Harden signed with Duquesne University in Pittsburgh," said JUCO expert Russ Blake. "After failing to qualify academically, he enrolled at Garden City in the fall of 2001. He played last summer in Las Vegas at the Adidas Big Time Tournament with Team Detroit." - Sullivan, Sporting News
3/19/02: "Leonard Harden got a lot of exposure last summer playing for Rodney Heard's Team Detroit squad at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas, so it's no surprise that a number of high major programs are interested in the 6-10 Garden City C.C. freshman. Harden, a 240 pound Detroit native, averaged 10.4 points and seven rebounds per game for the Kansas junior college in 2001-2002. Blessed with a rugged frame, good footwork and solid low post scoring skills, Harden could be one of the more coveted junior college big men in the Class of 2003. JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com caught up with Garden City Head Coach Jeremy Cox at the recent Region VI Tournament in Salina, Kan. He said that UNLV has shown tremendous interest in Harden, as have Texas Tech and Texas A&M. Harden signed with Duquesne during the fall 2000 signing period but was released from the NLI after the coaching change last spring. He had played for ex-AAU coach James Stafford who was in his first year as an assistant at the Atlantic 10 school; Stafford was not retained by new coach Danny Nee." - Rivals
