9/21/02: "Hunter said Arkansas and Tenn are his final two." - Greg Swaim
9/16/02: "Of all the remaining Tennessee targets, Vincent Hunter is one of the more mysterious and intriguing players out there. The 6-10 post player from Little Rock (AR) Fair wasn't very high profile this summer, and didn't receive much national attention until he showed up at AAU Nationals in late July. After that, though, there weren't many schools that didn't take notice. Hunter is slender and athletic, physically resembling Indiana Pacers forward Jonathan Bender. He has an intriguing skill set including ball handling and a reliably smooth jump shot to 18 feet, as well as an ability to block and alter shots on the defensive end with his long arms and bouncy nature. Still, many people nationwide haven't had a chance to see him play, and those that were in Orlando were left wanting to see more.
Hunter made Tennessee fans take notice when he began listing them among his leaders shortly after his performance in Orlando. Just this past week, Hunter hosted the Tennessee coaching staff on an in-home visit. "The visit was wonderful," Hunter said. "They told me I could come right in and play."
The well-spoken senior knows the Vols are serious about him, too. "They offered me a scholarship," he added. So where does Tennessee stand right now? "It's between Arkansas and Tennessee, head to head," Hunter said. "I'm looking for a good basketball team, a good program - that's really it. [I'm looking for] a really good coaching staff." Hunter is currently in the process of scheduling campus visits to Tennessee and other schools. For now, this much is sure: Tennessee is very serious about Hunter, and Hunter is very serious about the Vols." - VolBall
8/16/02: "the first thought that came to mind was Jonathan Bender. Physically and facially, he looks like the Pacers forward. "I get that a lot," Hunter said. Hunter is a good looking athlete who blocks shots and can step outside. However, like Bender he needs to add weight to his frame. DePaul, Tennessee, Kansas State, Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Louisiana Tech and Arkansas are on him. He says that most have offered. He is waiting on a test score at the present time." - http://theinsidershoops.theinsiders.com/
Aug 2002: "Extremely skinny forward is a Jonathan Bender clone from an appearance perspective. Heading into his senior year, his top strengths come as a rebounder and shot blocker. Likes to step outside, though that's not a strength yet." - Insiders
