8/30/00: "What he means to the Bearcats: Several Division-I coaches who watched McElroy play for Tyler (Texas) wouldn't be surprised if he were both the leading scorer and rebounder for Coach Bob Huggins this season. He's definitely cut from the Huggins cloth: he plays REALLY hard." - FoxSports, Burlison

8/5/00: Moved to Inactive List

4/17: "..is a 6-4 205 lb Sophomore Guard who competed this past season for Tyler J.C. in Texas. Cincinnati coach Bob Huggins is known for his successful recruiting of junior college players. It should come as little surprise then that McElroy commited to the Bearcats while on his official visit to their campus this past weekend. He picked UC over UNLV, Oklahoma State, and a host of others. New Memphis coach John Calipari had also tried to recruit him. Last fall Immanuel made a verbal commitment to Memphis, though once former Tigers coach Tic Price resigned, the junior college guard re-opened his recruiting. Immanuel is an athletic high scoring guard who plays above the rim and is very gifted offensively. Some feel he has a similar game to NBA star Mitch Richmond, and a number of NBA scouts evaluated McElroy during Tyler's season. He averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals per game for Tyler who finished their season with a record of 21 wins and 11 losses. McElroy is on course to graduate on time. - All Star Report

4/17: "The Cincinnati Bearcats completed their recruiting for 1999-2000 when they accepted a commitment from Immanuel McElroy, the third junior-college recruit in their incoming class." - Mike DeCourcy, Enquirer

4/15: Both AllStar Report and MidSouth Hoops is reporting that Cincinnati has signed Immanuel McElroy. - - -
"We reported a couple of days ago that Immanuel 'Bullet' McElroy, was leaning strongly towards Cincinnati. Well, it appears as if Bob Huggins got his man, as it's being reported that McElroy has indeed signed an LOI and returned it to the Bearcats. McElroy, a 6'4 combo guard from Tyler (TX) JC, also carries the nickname "I-Mac". - Mid South Hoops

4/14: "Immanuel McElroy will be on the UC campus this weekend for an official visit, along with Jamaal Davis. Word has it that Davis and McElroy were "hangin'" with Antwan Jones last weekend at the JC all-star game in Florida. So, unless our man Bob has lost his touch some, I expect that a week or so from now UC will have signed LOIs in hand from both Davis *and* McElroy." - Randy Shinkle

4/14: "begins his first official trip this weekend to Cincinnati. After visiting Cincy, McElroy will visit UNLV (Apr. 21-23) and Oklahoma State (Apr. 28-30), according to Tyler Asst. Coach Matt Javit. Memphis Head Coach John Calipari came to Tyler on Apr. 5 to make a pitch to McElroy, though it appears doubtful that Immanuel will re-commit to the Tiger program. - Juco Junction

4/14: "leaning strongly towards Cincinnati. Bullett is an outstanding player, whom many NBA scouts think has a career in the league. There were several schools vying for his services, including Oklahoma State and Memphis among others. McElroy will be a fine substitute for Jerome Harper." - MidSouth Hoops

4/6: "..Cincinnati is trying to setup a visit date for TX juco guard Immanuel McElroy. Tentatively, the date selected is the weekend of April 14, but that could change. UNLV and Oklahoma State are both recruiting him and Memphis is looking to make another pitch. Previously, McElroy had committed to Memphis, only to re-open his recruitment. - Rivals100Hoops.com

4/4: "..a 6-4, 205lb Soph, Tyler JC (TX) - Tyler Coach Chris Crutchfield told All-Star Report yesterday that McElroy will still visit Cincinnati and UNLV as previously mentioned. (Cincinnati on April 14/15 & UNLV on April 21/22) Chris also confirmed that Oklahoma State will receive a visit, though a date for that trip has yet to be chosen. Sources tell All-Star Report that the Cowboys really like McElroy's game. While we got the impression that Immanuel was likely to decide between those three schools, Coach Crutchfield had previously told us that Arizona, Purdue, and Texas A&M were also showing interest. McElroy is an athletic high scoring guard who plays above the rim and is very gifted offensively. Some feel he has a similar game to NBA star Mitch Richmond, and a number of NBA scouts evaluated McElroy during Tyler's season. He averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game for Tyler who finished their season with a record of 21 wins and 11 losses. McElroy is on course to graduate on time. - AllStar Report

3/29/00: "Hedging against the possibility of (DerMarr)Johnson turning pro, UC is continuing to recruit potential replacements and has targeted two junior-college guards: Monte Cummings of NJCAA champion Southeastern Iowa and Immanuel McElroy of Tyler (Texas). Cummings made the all-tournament team at the JC national tournament after scoring 12 points in the title game and 17 points in the semifinal. He also is considering Georgia. McElroy, who is 6-4, 190 pounds, averaged 20 points and eight rebounds for Tyler this season. He's expected to decide between UC and UNLV." - DeCourcy 3/29

3/22/00: "6-4 205lb sophomore wing guard Immanuel McElroy was a star this past season for Tyler JC in Texas, McElroy has received a lot of interest lately from schools such as Cincinnati, UNLV, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Purdue, and Texas A&M. I spoke to Tyler HC Chris Crutchfield this morning, and he told me that Immanuel is currently deciding which schools he will take visits to. Coach Crutchfield told me that right now the only two visits Immanuel has lined up will be one to Cincinnati on April 14/15th... ...is an athletic high scoring guard who plays above the rim and is very gifted offensively. Some feel he has a similar game to NBA star Mitch Richmond, and a number of NBA scouts evaluated McElroy during Tyler's season. " - AllStar Report

3/23/00: "According to Tyler Asst. Coach Matt Javit, both Cincinnati Head Coach Bob Huggins and UNLV Head Coach Bill Bayno were in to see McElroy this week. Javit said that as a result, both UNLV and Cincinnati have emerged as the co-leaders in McElroy's recruiting process." - Jucojunction.com

2/21/00: "It appears that if Calipari is named the Memphis coach, he may face an uphill battle in McElroy. MidSouth-Hoops has learned that Bob Huggins and the Cincinnati Bearcats staff are on him "big-time." - MidSouth-Hoops

1/31/00: "The latest I've heard is that UC is interested in 6'4 JC wing guard Immanuel McElroy from Tyler (TX). McElroy committed to Memphis a long time ago but didn't sign last fall because of Tic Price's resignation. At the time he was supposed to be a point guard in training. I don't know what UC's interest in him would be, unless the staff believes DerMarr is not coming back. - Recruiting Guru, Randy '78
