4/20: "Don't be surprised if you see Modibo Diarra give a commitment to Memphis within the next week or two. John Calipari, who has been active on the recruiting trail ever since he was named the head coach at Memphis, has made a special point to go after the 6'9 C/F. "I have gotten about 6 phone calls in the past week from John, telling me that he has made it clear that he wants Modibo for next year," said head coach Bill Barton from Notre Dame Preparatory in Fitchburg, MA. Originally from Mali, a poor country in the western part of Africa, English is not his first language, and thus it has been tough for him to do well on the verbal section of the SAT. Cincinnati, Louisville, Boston College, Providence, Kentucky and Syracuse have all expressed an interest in Diarra.
