1/2/2001: "After shocking Indiana Prep Basketball by smoothly transferring to Warren Central from County rival Ben Davis, the 6-4 Workhorse Forward has now allowed himself to become academically ineligible. We do not believe that he can resurface after the next grade report. He has not been to any of the Holiday practices at Warren Central. Hopefully, Patterson will restore his academic situation and graduate from High School. Prep Schools, Junior Colleges and NCAA D-1 Redshirting are all options for Aaron once he finally proves that he will be serious about Academics." - INB News.com

10/19/01: "Aaron Patterson enrolls at Warren Central. The powerful 6-4 player did everything in his power to try and finish his High School Career at Ben Davis. Problem was, Aaron's mother (legal guardian)moved to Warren Township in August. Aaron still tried to make the cross town journey each morning to attend Ben Davis his senior year, but this transportation problem has become a huge strain to accomplish each day. Whether or not he will be eligible to compete this season is another question. Academically, Patterson's only chance for success was to transfer to the School District that he now resides in. We wish the broad shouldered, personable Patterson the best as we have enjoyed watching his game stretch to Small Forward over the past four years." - INB News
