8/16: "We knew all along that Randy Foye wanted to play big-time hoops. We then knew that he wanted to play in the Big East. And now we know that the 6-3 combo guard from Newark (NJ) Eastside wants to play at one of two schools. "It's going to be Villanova or Seton Hall," Foye told PrepStars.com. "I was looking at some other schools earlier, but now it's just those two." Why the Wildcats and Pirates? "Because I like the academics at both places and I can see myself coming in and possibly starting right away," Foye said. Randy said that he plans to commit after taking the SAT, which he'll do in either October or November. He said that both schools have extended an offer." - PrepStars

7/31: "Clemson, Seton Hall, Villanova, and DePaul are the schools that I'm considering right now," said Foye. We asked him if he had a leader and he said, "Yeah, Villanova leads. I know (Villanova assistant coach) Fred Hill really well, and I got a chance to meet Jay Wright. I like how they let their guards play." Randy has some work to do in the classroom to be elligible next year, and he will take the SAT for the first time in October. He hasn't made any campus visits to date." - HoopScoop (3 to 1)

7/14: Listed as the 40th best player in his class - RSCI Consensus

7/11: "Randy Foye of Newark East Side has said he will consider entering the NBA Draft next spring, and people around him have told him he could be a first-round pick. But respected recruiting analyst Tom Konchalski said Foye shouldn't be thinking about going pro. "He's a terrific player who can probably play at the highest level of college basketball, but if he's talking about the NBA he must mean the Newark Basketball Association," said Konchalski, who publishes the HSBI Report. "He's an excellent player, but he's not an NBA player now. The smallest guy who's been drafted (out of high school) in the modern era has been Kobe Bryant at 6-5. All the other guys were bigs. Randy is 6-21/2." Foye, a senior point guard, said he's thought about filing for the NBA Draft for the last several months. A Second Team All-Stater last season, Foye averaged 8.6 points through three games at ABCD camp at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Rothman Center in Hackensack despite battling flu symptoms and asthma attacks. He lists Florida State, Seton Hall, Villanova, DePaul and CINCINNATI as his top college choices, though he admits his grades are a heavy concern. He will take his first SAT in October. "The SAT will be the thing, and if I qualify to play as a freshman I would want to go to college," Foye said. "But if I saw a lot of NBA interest, I would go." - NJ Ledger

7/8: "Villanova, Florida, CINCINNATI, Tennessee, DePaul, Seton Hall, and Rutgers are all showing early interest in 6'3 Randy Foye from Newark (East Side) NJ." - Hoop Scoop

7/5: Listed as the 18th best player in his class. - ESPN

6/21: "Randy Foye, a talented 6-3, 195 pound combo/shooting guard from East Side H.S. in Newark NJ, is considering a number of high major programs entering his senior year. Foye was one of the top offensive talents on display at this past weekend's Rumble in the Bronx, where he led Sandy Pyonin's N.J. Roadrunners squad to the semifinals of the 17 and under SILVER division. Foye can play either guard slot, but he is most dangerous as an open court offensive threat. He has a slick handle, strong frame and the body control to finish difficult drives to the basket. When he gets it going from beyond the arc, he is almost impossible for defenses to stop. His decision making and shot selection are at times questionable, but Foye often backs it up by producing. Foye told the Insiders Report that he is fairly open on schools, listing Georgia Tech, Ohio State, St. John's, Seton Hall, Syracuse, Villanova, UCLA, CINCINNATI and Florida. Foye averaged 22.6 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal per game as a junior at East Side H.S. Foye said he has a 2.3 GPA but will not take the SAT until the fall. Foye will play at the adidas ABCD Camp this summer. The New Jersey Roadrunners' travel schedule for July is still uncertain, but Pyonin and many of the players will work out at the YMHA in Union, N.J. The Roadrunners will compete in August at the Golden Hoops, Sonny Hill Tournament and Tim Thomas Playaz Ball." - RivalsHoops
