Re: Any word on McClain?

I think that we are in the lead for McClain, but that doesn't mean much.
He has said (or people close to him have said) that it is very important
for him to be on the court. I can't see him wanting to be behind two
big sophomores, but that is me.

If not McClain as a true center UC can still go after Stoneridge Prep
players Sylla and Diarra.

I do not think that we will get McClain. It has nothing to do with Mick
or his recruiting. It has to do with him wanting to go to a school that

1) Wins
2) On national TV a lot
3) Playing Time

We can offer him playing time but we can't really match UConn or Ten.
on the first two. therefore I believe that we will not land McClain.

The highlight reel you saw was when he was a Sophomore. He has lost
weight and is more agile that he appeared in the rivals video reel that
you were referring to.

I have not seen him as of yet but I will get plenty of chances in the
coming months.

I have seen a highlight reel of him. Have you seen Morgan play? Is he an
impact player?

Are they going to sign Corie Blount on the coaching staff? Is he going
to be the center we sign cause I don't see any other C we are looking at
other than McClain, I am not sold on Morgan for 08' yet.

I guess that we don't need a true center. We just need lots of wing
players because the two best teams in the BEast don't have legitimate
centers, just Gray and Hibbert. To be competitive in the Big East you
NEED a legitimate center. Louisville, Georgrtown, Pitt all have centers.
All we are bringing in are 6'6" slashers. Even in 2008 which is supposed
to be Mick's year all he has is a 6'7" SF and no real impact players.

McClain. What makes this player so special and perhaps so critical for
UC to land?
