If you use the web interface and click on each month, it appears that
there are no postings in 2006 or 2007. If you click on 2005, you get
"access forbidden". If you go back far enough (2003?) you can see some
postings there.

Are you referring to the general forum link on this page?
http://www.bearcatnews.com/forum/

If not, which one are you referring to?

Keith,

When clicking on the General Forum link, a different page comes
up....one asking for Admin password.

The general forum is set up exactly like the basketball and football

forums. Instructions for subscribing and posting are available at:

The only difference should be the forum e-mail address which is
address@hidden

What makes you think that it is different?

I would gladly use the General Forum if it was set up similar to

I have real difficulty understanding why people can not comprehend

nor follow simple directions. Years ago there was one "Forum" and
therefore
all
discussion, no matter what the subject, took place there. Then
came a
time
when some people objected to their mail boxes filling up with
football related items if they only wanted to discuss basketball,
some who only wanted to talk basketball and football, and didn't
want to receive even
the
occasional postings about track or soccer, etc. So the guys who
agreed
to
run the Forum divided it, like all Gaul, into 3 parts.

It's up to you folks - you can join/participate in one, two or all
three.
But I am at a loss to figure out why the basketball forum is used
by
some
people for all their postings, whether it is directly related to
basketball
or not. Keith made a simple request - not to stop posting - but to

move
a
discussion involving the operation of the athletic department as a
whole,
certainly a legitimate topic of conversation, - to the "general"
forum, where it obviously belongs. Why is that too much to ask?
