Tom-
I agree with you basic presumption (I think it is what you are saying) that
Cronin can't really be judged until 2010. Still, it's somewhat depressing
to know that the program was in such bad shape that we have to wait 3 more
years before we can realistically really hope that the program will be back
where it needs to be. I can't stand watching all of these post season games
knowing that UC is sitting at home!

2007 was a yearlong practice. 2008 will be 100% his own recruits. 2010
will be the 3rd year. I'd expect a solid NCAA title contender then.
Has it happened before at UC? Yes.
http://www.sportsstats.com/jazzyj/past/92cincinnati.htm 3rd year and 100%
his own recruits. Pretty easy OOC schedule except for IU, Mich St, and Tenn.
Great Midwest had good teams like DePaul, Memphis, and Marquette. But not
many.
The 1992 team had star caliber players. Herb Jones. Nicky Van Exel. Corie
Blount. The 2008-09-10 UC teams will need more star caliber players. Yancy
Gates, for example. And a few more.
http://www.bearcatnews.com/bearcats/basketball/archives/season_results.php?season=1991FF requires luck but UC should be in position to make a run at it in 2010,
if not sooner.
I'll be looking forward to Top 10 rated team and FF contender in 2010
season. Mick Cronin has never won an NCAA game but neither had the UC coach
(at the time) in 1992.
