seemed to me that in most games, the 'Cats shot FTs relatively well until late in
the game. Part of that is fatigue, part of that is mental, but I think the
former contributes to the latter, ie a tired player has more difficulty
concentrating. As the bench gets deeper, the fatigue will be less of a factor and
should help the FT shooting.
Free throw shooting late in the game when the game is on the line has more
to do with mental than fatigue. A player short arms a free throw and hits the
front of the rim in a tie game late has just choked. I always like to compare
a players IQ to his free throw percentage. They go hand in hand in most
