Al,

I don't recall anywhere that the discussion of former players and coaches
was ruled out of bounds. The issue is the constant rehashing of certain
former Bearcat's separation from the program, or using news of past players
and coaches to open up those overly discussed topics.

Actually, with a little research you could have found this post from Keith
specifically about this topic back on March 2:

There appears to be a fuzzy line regarding what is appropriate and what
isn't when talking about Coach Huggins and Coach Kennedy. So, let me try to
clarify it.

* Posting about what both coaches did while at UC is certainly OK. It is
fun to reminisce about past successes
* Critiquing what they did on the court at UC and their recruiting (I
know...recruiting does not apply to Coach Kennedy) is OK too. There have
been some very good posts about this recently.
* Posting how each coach is doing at their current jobs is OK as long as you
stick to the facts.
* Please avoid disparaging posts about past coaches in an effort to shine a
brighter light on Coach Cronin. The converse is also true. Please try to
avoid posts along the lines of "Huggins would have won more games than
Cronin with UC's roster". When you get right down to it, such comparisons
don't matter much. Coach Cronin is our coach and Coach Huggins and Coach
Kennedy have moved on.
* Posting about how each departed and how the UC administration handled it
is NOT OK and should be avoided. This subject was well covered in the past
and rehashing this is no longer acceptable on this forum.

Why is it okay for Keith Wedinger to post unrelated items such as
congratulating Huggins and Kennedy, or looking for tips when purchasing
an HDTV, on the basketball forum, when everyone else is supposed to post
these topics on the general forum? Inquiring minds want to know.

Do NOT reply to this thread on the basketball forum. If you want to talk
more about Tom Hathaway's departure, go to the general forum.>
