I am not impressed with the giving away of his kidney to his
daughter... any parent would do that for their kid. That is just not
that big of a deal.
I have a buddy who gave away a kidney to a complete stranger, that is
impressive.
To go back to my opinion on Oscar... as I stated before, he was a
great player. However, I don't take his opinion on things as gold, as
some here do. He has shown himself to be bitter in the past, thus
skewing his point of view. I respect what he did for UC, but I also
think the things he said about Coach Huggins on WLW the one night to
be ridiculous. To spout off those statements did not help perception
people have of him, especially considering many of them were totally
false. That night I lost the last bit of respect for his opinion
remaining.
I'll congratulate him for being a great player, and I think he
definitely deserved to be in the collegiate hall of fame, but I will
not sit back and listen to him say false statements about former
players in order to make the previous coach look bad and the
administration look good.

Off the court, I am not sure I care one way or the other. But, I think the
amount of good he has done over the years far outweighs any gruff public
perception he may have. The donation of one of his kidneys to his daughter
to save her life stands out in my mind as one of his greatest
accomplishments.
