"They have had what, a year or more to get everything together?"  
UC announced the switch to adidas on June 12, 2006.

 

"How long does it take to get this stuff out?"  This stuff (jerseys, etc.)
is made overseas and gets ordered WAY in advance of the season starting-
example #1: I had ordered Nike for this Basketball season, PO was dated
March 2006 (3 months prior to the announcement.)  Example #2: I placed my
adidas Fall 2007 order last week- yes, I have already ordered jerseys for
next basketball season.  So you can see how making the big announcement in
June caused some issues with delivery.  Then there is a matter of the
expiration of the contracts UC previously held, there is little anyone could
have done to make this better.  It's just unfortunately the nature of the
beast.

 

Per an email from my adidas rep, they are expecting the Replica Jerseys to
arrive in the country 1/5/07 ; therefore I should have them about a week
later.  He also said that the Replica Shorts are "packed and ready to go" so
I should have them in the next couple of days.

 

DuBois has also received several tees, long sleeve tees, hoods, etc. from
adidas, along with the only collared shirt that was available at the time we
placed our order.

 

The switch to adidas is beneficial to the entire University- Nike provided
for only select sports and adidas will be providing gear for nearly every
sport.  There were also rumors within the industry that the Jordan aspect of
the Nike brand was going to be dropped this year, at ALL collegiate schools,
not just UC.  Who knows if this would have happened, but it definitely would
have been a step back from where we were with Nike.  Here at DuBois we are
looking forward to working with adidas!
