Dan-

Great post. Understand your position.

How about this: Since you are a HUGE bearcat (and I know you are), can you give this administration the benefit of the doubt for some period of time (to be negotiated)? After that time, you have the all the ammo to say it's not over.

I have my own doubts about this administration, but I have decided to give them 2 years to prove me wrong. I know it sounds like a long time, but I'm here for the long haul, so I do not really think about anything except the sports teams themselves. They have 2 years. After that, if I still see the same issues then they must go.

I was thinking about this a lot last night too...

I know MANY, consider my "attitude" negative.. Or dwelling on the past. I
think a better way to articulate it is this...

You all say get over Huggins not being here, he is gone and is not coming
back. The fact is I am over Huggins not being here, that is not really my
point at all. You are right that is over. My issue is that Huggins being
gone is only a symptom of the disease. And frankly the disease is not gone.
I am more than happy to support this "Team", these "players" and this
Coach... BUT... I don't think I should have to support this administration.

After investing 14 years in a program, they decided they wanted to make a
change against the Popular will of the fans... You can argue this if you
want, but I think the people still talk about it etc speaks volumes. Not to
mention these topics continue, much to the dismay of Keith and some of the
few that still post here, are the most posted on.

The fact is, it's NOT over, the disease is still here, and they have yet to
earn this fans respect. I mean, this is America right... If I didn't like
the president, am I not an American?

The point is this, I am having a hard time "investing" in this
administration, they have done nothing to build my confidence, and nothing
to make me believe this will change. They are still here and they can still
be changed. I Pretty much think until that happens you will hear similar
thoughts from many. The "Kstate" followers are just looking for someplace
to "invest" their sports currency (fandom) in. Where they feel someone
won't piss it all away due to personal reasons, or decide that it's
something that needs to be fixed. I don't want someone who creates damaged
goods.

I see many new names on here... They probably wonder why Keith even
tolerates me posting anymore and have probably even said why don't you kick
Dan off... Well... Keith knows me, he knows that I am a HUGE UC Bearcat fan,
that I've had season tickets, that I've partied with him after victories and
agonized after defeats. Is he even getting tired of it, of course!!! :) But
hey, if their weren't "Patriots" who continued the fight we might not have
an America!

Again... It's NOT over, it's not in the past. I am completely over that
Huggins is not coach, I am not over that an administration is in charge that
doesn't seem to "get it". Until they are gone, or change their tune, I will
continue to debate them.

OK... Now that was said... Look for my posts about the game last night that
will say nothing about the administration or Huggins :)

The response to my last post was surprising. I figured I'd get flamed but
only several responded and
with thoughtful posts. I was irritated when I wrote that post and I should
have said things a
little different. First of all, a great many former and current UC fans
have a special place in their
hearts for Bob Huggins and what he accomplished at UC and the excitement he
brought to the
program. Those who knock his record are also knocking the many fine
players that came to UC
and played their hearts out making that record.

The moderators of this forum have requested that we move on and I certainly
agree. Mick Cronin
is now the Headcoach and I don't believe any of the current players ever
played for Bob Huggins. What is
the point of trying to pick apart the past 15 years. Be thankful for them,
what great memories they
are.

Nothing about the UC program is the same but the name. New coach, new
players, new uniforms, new
logo, new league. We're starting over and I'm content to let Cronin give UC
a new identity and put his
stamp on it. There is a lot of healing to be done and I would think that
the forum would be a good
place to help it along. A lot of UC fans still have resentment and I think
the football attendance is a
reflection of that. Cronin sure has a job ahead of him in winning back the
UC fanbase. But the keyword
is winning and I feel that we are two years away at best. I remember and
look forward to a time when opposing teams will dread playing UC. This is
what we should be talking about. Huggs seems very happy
at KS St........and Mick Cronin needs all the backing he can get. To all
those living in the past, it really is
time to move on.
